Korean actors are massive in Japan now. The most popular one is Mr. Yon-je (it's wrong, I don't know how to spell it in English), DVDs of his tv series are sold very well, package tours which plan to visit drama locations in Korea are always full. When Mr. Yon-je came to Japan for a promotion of his photo book, tons of fans rushed into the air terminal and some of them were injured. An interest thing is that the fans are mainly housewives of in their forties and over. Men (and their husbands) call it a social phenomenon...cynically.
Personally, I don't see any hotness or cuteness in Korean actors, however, I kinda feel for those women. I always fall in love with boys in bands, you know
.
And, to those slow guys and husbands, what's so funny about it? You should take some blame for it. Mr. Yon-je played a role of a devoted, self-sacrificed man in tv dramas (so I heard),so he stole many Japaneses hearts. That means, those ladies are starving for their partners' gentle concern and affections. Perhaps, their husband never notice her new hair cut. "Ohh our love has faded away, and I don't think my husband is charming anyway", poor wives go for the film stars. Yeah, that makes sense.
This is my debut in news forum...but...why I'm so excited about this silly topic? ha!
