sad.gif holy shit. this effing sucks. I hope all our New Orleans kids got out okay--I drove 1000 miles to New Orleans last week to start college, arrived on Friday, moved in Saturday morning, and got kicked out an hour later. So I've driven 2200 miles in the past 6 days and now my school and one of the most interesting cities in the world are gonna be underwater in a matter of hours.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. fuuuuuck. What a great way to start college, eh? I'm really worried about New Orleans and college and everyone there and everything....I hate hurricanes!! blink.gif mad.gif

Oh and if you have no idea what I'm talking about, there is a HUGE hurricane headed directly at New Orleans and Mississippi and there is going to be an insane amount of damage because the city is mostly below sea level and there are still thousands of people stuck in the city which may turn out really really badly (some in shelters but not all) and this is one of the biggest storms to hit the US ever. ohmy.gif If you believe in God or Buddha or any deity, please pray for (or if not cross your fingers for) New Orleans, Mississippi and the many people directly in the path of the storm. This is really terrible.

oh and to top off the fact that I have to put off going to college for at the very least another week, there was a huge accident on the road home today and it took us over 2 hours to drive 5 whole miles.

sorry, i sent her to you. she rained on us all day too.
  • Woah, that is insane! I'm glad our Queen still made it out okay...Hopefully it will blow over quickly and as quietly as possible.
76 - keep your hurricanes to yourself! mellow.gif
I just got an e-mail from my friend in Orlando, so that's a relief...
  • but i like to share. why should i have all the fun? i had to be outside today...so it's okish for me.
  • oh and everybody pray that the dome of the superdome holds up under the wind because there are over 35,000 people in it right now. I should really stop watching this coverage cause it's only making me worry a lot.
  • if there's one thing i've learned about hurricanes in all my years living in hurricane alley it's this: hurricanes both suck and blow........figure that one out.

Oh jeeze, that's so true, and sad at the same time.

I hope everything turns out alright for everyone down south right now. When my cousin lived in Florida, I would always worry about her during this time of year. It's really scary. sad.gif
  • it's not the most horrible thing in the world. last year all 3 serious ones hit tampa and orlando and i managed to survive. but i'm resilient and cute...

That always works like a charm!

Tornados aren't too nice either, I even live in Michigan and we get some nasty ones. The ones in on Lake Huron are pretty neat, though. My dad used to live in a harbor town called Port Sanilac; he lived right on the lake. One day two tornados came through town, one right down his driveway and the other in the lake. My dad lost his garage, and luckily my step mom was at work or they would have lost the car.

But the water spouts are neat to look at, unless some poor boat is sucked in it. But they never leave the water.

  • haha the southwest is like, the safest place ever. everywhere else has tornados and earthquakes and hurricanes. all we have is the desert. nothing that a little rain cant fix.

but seriously. new orleans... that's terrible. ive always wanted to visit, because its so culturally magnificent. damn. i hope theyre safe.
  • hehe here in wisconsin we get tornadoes, but there not that big.ive only been in one it was AWESOME!!!! we went into our basement in the only brick area and stayed there.the thing is its open to the window.we could watch everything goin on outside.it was super.my neighbor has this like play thing in his back yard that has swings and its like 2 small floors.well we saw it get like whiped away.

we had this picnic table in our back yard with a huge umbrella in it.well the picnic table was lifted up and slammed into the trees nearby, bending the big umbrella almost completely in half.none of the chairs were moved.i thought that was cool.

    i like little tornados.
