Whats you favorite old band?

So in a quest to learn more about everything good in the world i've been listenin to older bands so far i think my favorite is t.rex woo hoo
and the beatles of course

what's your favorite older band (name a song please)

t.rex song is prolly bang a gong or cosmic dancer
beatles is ridiculous i dunno what song by them i love like 98 of their songs

    My favorite Beatles song is "A Day in the Life".

    My favorite old band? I don't listen to much old music, which is unfortunate cause it means I'm really ignorant about a lot of classic rock, but I guess my fave would be The Kinks ("Waterloo Sunset" is one song I like a lot).

    Led Zeppelin, Queen, AC/DC, Nick Drake, and loads more i just can't think of them at the mo'
    and i'm too lazy to name a song b/c there's so many good ones to choose from... but if you really want songs let me know

    nick drake... i found out about him from my brother... he's had a few songs on soundtracks if that helps at all... Northern Sky on serendipity, and one of these things first on garden state

    oh and cream's definately a good one too..

    ohh and i like the animals' "house of the rising sun"

    How old is old? I mean, I just saw Jonathan Richman the other night and he's not actually old at all, but the first Modern Lovers album was recorded well before I was born and is just fantastic. Almost every song on the album is great, but I guess the most well-known is "Roadrunner." I have to say that I'm highly suspicious of anyone who doesn't like that song. It's just not natural.

    I'm of course assuming the Beatles are a given here, as this topic could get pretty repetitive otherwise.

    i effing *heart* the beach boys too. pet sounds is one of the top 10 best albums ever. if you've never heard it trust me, go out and buy it.
