Sooooo... did anyone go see the newest Harry Potter movie? I'm not a super-uber-ultra-geeky fan, but I'm surprised that no one has started a topic about it yet. Did I miss another thread about it?! Is the discussion elsewhere?! I feel like I'm late to class and I'm totally arriving at the wrong room!!
So yeah, I dug the movie. I was excited and scared during different events in the movie, though admittedly it was because I've read the book twice and it's my favorite of all the books so far. I think the movie moved WAY fast, and the things that were left out of the movie didn't bother me at all. Ron and Harry's haircuts did bother me, though.
I liked that the movie had quite a few laughs, too. That was awesome! Not everything has to be doom and gloom all the time.
Thoughts on the movie? The book? The series as a whole? Harry Potter? Harry Potter fans?

shut it andy harry potter is awesome and the books are just fabulous!
i haven't seen the movie yet, but i definately will check it out some time soon. i know a couple people who have seen it and absolutely loved the film. all i've heard is people singing it's praises, so i'm definately looking forward to seeing it on the big screen.
anyway, it was good, i thought. definitely scary at times, definitely funny at others. not too bad.
i'm not a huge fan of the movies in general, and i absolutely love the books, but i do feel like the movies are getting progressively better.
see the thing is, i already told everyone im a geek, in my sig
and i started reading harry potter when it came out and i was eight or nine, so I don't think that really counts, because now its more like nostalgia for those days that keeps me reading the books and seeing the movies.
but that's just me. and it might be a total load of crap that i just typed there, but oh well.
oh yeah- Harry and the Potters own your soul.
Oh, man- they played a show a few days before Hallowe'en two towns over and had a costume contest and everything, and I couldn't go. But it was a for a very good reason- I was going to see OK Go the same night!
And I honestly DID NOT LIKE GoF AT ALL. I really didn't. I mean, yes, there were some really, really good parts, and parts that worked well. But I just feel that, with the resources and cast and crew that they've got, they could have done far better. The way parts were handled was just sloppy. I really really wanted, in my heart of hearts, to leave loving that movie, and I couldn't. It just didn't work for me.
I you want to read my monster of a review (that's still in progres!!! And it's so freaking long as it is!!!), head on over to my LJ:

They haven't been playing shows since october, as far as i know- they're still in school. at least thats what my friends tell me. i'm not as big a fan as most of my friends, so i believe them.
scary potter? no interest, tho i have friends who love/read the series.
...i would like to see "the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe!"
Are they really still in school? I did not know that.
I know that they definitely played at The Witching Hour in Salem back on the first weekend of October (which my roomie went to, I wanted to go so bad...yes, I'm a total Harry Potter geek, I know...), and I know for sure that they did that show on the 27th, 'cause it was over at Mount Holyoke, which is like, 20 minutes from here.
But other than that, no idea. I really want a "Save Ginny!" t-shirt.
im not sure about the ages, but yeah, theyre in college at least.
did you go to park?
a buuuuunch of my friends got to go... i didnt :\
supposedly it was pretty pakced though.
I'm sorry. That's no fun. (Though, personally, I'd say you're not missing much...but then, that's just me...)
