New radio commercial for "Oh No"! :)))

I never said anything about this yet! DUH

Yesterday, post-VMA morning, driving to work, I was just about there and was station surfing in a serious way, click click click click click, and I click on Q101 and hear "HIGA." And before I have a chance to say, "Yay," because it would have been the first time I'd heard it on the radio, I hear this woman's voice saying,

"After stealing the show at the MTV Video Music Awards, OK Go ..." My eyes almost fell out of my head and I squawked. Then something about people flooding "health clubs, [something], and music outlets," and HIGA being an Internet sensation seen around the world, and maybe AMW too? and I think something about people imitating their moves ... this is all with HIGA playing loud in the background and this chick talking in total promotion voice. I thought it was something Q101 had put together in support of the band or something and I thought, "Cool!!" And then it said, and I'm sure about this part,

"4 guys, 8 treadmills, millions of fans." And then, "Get their new album, 'Oh No,' at Best Buy and see what everyone's talking about."

It was SO COOL. It was a long, really positive, really great commercial and so unexpected--I was already bouncy from the VMAs the night before and then I *just happened* to turn it on just as it was starting, right before I got to work--it was crazy! I was yelling and punching the air in the car through the whole thing, and I even teared up. lol I felt so damn proud. And I liked Best Buy for partnering with them before (well, I liked Best Buy anyway), but now they've *really* won my loyalty. biggrin.gif

So then, I get home late from work last night and check my email and find out the guys were in Chicago yesterday! (See "Chicago Fans Represent" thread) It felt so good thinking that right after all of that big-break stuff the night before, there they were in the band's hometown, only a couple hours from where I was at that time and I didn't even know it as I periodically thought back fondly on the night before and the commercial in the morning ... lol It was just awesome in that fannish kind of way.
