Ah yes! The Monkees. This reminds me that I have been looking for their song "All of your Toys" for the longest time! Well, since December. I wonder if iTunes has it.......

Ah yes that's an wonderfully rare song. Rhino records once release a set of 3 cd's featuring Monkees songs that never made it big but are great songs nonetheless. They're like the Monkees version of Ok Go's Appendices, I guess you could say. The 3 cd's are called "The Missing Links." If you search for those albums, you'll find what you're looking for, ytel82. I believe "All of Your Toys" is on the first "Missing Links" album.
It's interesting that Tim says "We are not an indie rock band" which is exactly what Damian always calls them...
No, he says, "we're not an LA indie rock band" - I take it because OK Go didn't form in LA, and they're not part of the current LA indie rock scene. He doesn't say OK Go is not an indie rock band, though.

Ah, my bad I didn't get the importance of the LA bit Thanks
This is 99% off topic (the 1% is the fact that Tim brought up The Monkees), but I saw this today about the Hall of Fame. Big Monkees fan here. (And wow, Peter is 65 years old!)
And most of you probably don't even remember The New Monkees show from 1987. I wanted so badly for it to be cool, but it was truly awful! And I remember hating Marty most of all. There's a bunch of clips on YouTube, but I'm afraid to watch them.

Anyway, back to the thread...
No wonder I've been having a hard time finding it! Thanks Tempe

I love the Monkees too.
Holy fuck, you remember the New Monkees????? You, my sister, and I are the only humans who do, I'm sure. However, we actually found it entertaining, as awful as it was. My sister had their album. And she's older than me!
I still remember finding one line from the show absolutely hilarious--something about "Pope on a Rope."

That line almost made me choke to death The only thing that kept me from dying was wanting to see OK Go on Leno tonight!
I should have had a better subject line for this thread, but it's not worth starting a new one. It's all under the big umbrella that is The Cornell U show with The All-American Rejects and The Whigs.
Anyhoo, there is an interview with Damian in the school paper, conducted before the show:
7*s, I loved that article! Of course a Cornellian would ask better questions than the usual Treadmills bs. :-D (I'm a little biased towards Cornell, as the daughter and sister-in-law of Cornellians!!) Thanks for posting it!
I remember them too, but really only remember that one with the blonde mullet. They were on Saturday mornings, I think.
Evil and pathetic attempt to cash in on and discredit the true monkees, that's what I say. That's it! Time to start a monkees love thread...*goes to do that*
Daze: Where was the rest of the band while you were in jail? D.K.: They were actually [laughs], surprisingly they were — this is so ridiculous — they were at a party at an ex-‘NSync member’s house.
Tsk tsk Damian. There is no such thing as an 'ex-NSYNC memeber'. They haven't broken up, they're on a little hiatus, like The Sopranos tend to do. I know my boys are comin' back.
*tear*
& holy crap! NSYNC and OK Go in the same room! Are you trying to kill me?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Liked the bit about Carol Kaye--and Tempe will like the Monkees mention!
