I know. I know you guys are all sick of me and my UK music obsession, but hear me out on this.
The Hoosiers.
I
them. A Lot. Their CD has been in heavy rotation since I got it last fall. It is Fantastic, believe me. Unfortunately I do not believe it is currently available in US stores, but it *is* on iTunes. You need to do this. Why? Because (according to a lovely inside source I have) there is a possibility they will come to the States if enough people start buying their disc. Unfortunately Radio/MTV/Traditional outlets are not pushing this band enough (if at all) and therefore no one is hearing them.
You think OK Go is funny? These guys are Just As. There are LOADS of videos available on their
website that will back up that claim. Here's a personal favorite (albeit short):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6Y0EZBmVuw See? See how funny they are?
You know how OK Go has fun happy music with serious themes in their lyrics? The Hoosiers do that too! They discuss
fear of growing up, their
beliefs on world politics,
misogyny, and
Jerk-off Know-it-alls.
So go love them.
Or They'll Cry. And you don't want that.

I saw them twice a few weeks ago, one real show, one acoustic set in store. They are really really nice and sign everything you give them, haha... ^^
(even though they don't seem to know the use of the address field of a postcard and write all over that... )
Aaaaanyway, go listen to them, great great great!!!
Here's a video my sister made of the acoustic set:
Cops and Robbers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8vsiuJzjDw whooooowheeeeeeeeeewhooooooooowheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Fave songs on the album: Cop and Robbers and Killer. Killer. And Goodbye Mr A reminds me of traffic jams in Washington DC. Can't think why....
If they ever make it to the states, the Midwest specifically, I will do everything in my power to see them.
Fair enough. But, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zqX5ST1Kzc
You'll have to skip ahead to 4:15 or so (unless you want to watch Cops and Robbers again, which works for me too). Thanks for the back up, though, Mayo and Alie. Becky, believe me. You want The Hoosiers.
I went to their show with mayo and it was great. It was our funny whiskers- show ...
and two days ago, I wore my Hoosiers- Shirt and it got recognised, so there are people I know who actually know bands I listen to!
so, you want to know them too, I guess
(and I like the smileys )
