Reviews from the London Show?!

edited November -1 in OK Go
So guys, reviews?!?!

Last night was the first ever show that they've played in this Country that I've not been to...

More importantly, regardless of a lot of pushing me to go from several people, I didn't want to go to....
(I actually spent my evening looking at houses. How grown up am I lol sad.gif )
So. HOW THE HELL WAS IT!??!

  • Last night was my first time seeing them, and I was blown away.

Everything seemed so spot on. I've got the albums, but not being a huge fan I couldn't reel off their set list.

    -Lots of confetti
    -Amazing live performance
-Played a song entirely using church bells, which was awesome
-New stuff from the third album

The crowd seemed a bit weird, compared to average gigs at academy type venues, can't really describe how. So many people coming in and going out during the main performance, it was distracting.

But the band were fantastic. An intimate venue, plenty of banter and interaction with the crowd and lots of great energetic upbeat music.

Tickets for the January London show are already sorted.
  • 2nd time seeing them tongue.gif
So glad it was a tiny, tiny venue! We tried to get to the very front but we didn't know we had to get stamped before we queue so I ended up near the front...oh well

Very, very entertaining show! Lots of funny talks from Damian! Loved "What to Do" with church bells, Damian joked that they haven't had any practice but you do need some skills to sing and play them at the same time!!!

They played lots of new stuff, which was cool, but, I wish they played more old stuff..they didn't even do Youre so damn hot!
Well my friends and I were secretly hoping they'd play Let it Rain and Maybe This Time etc laugh.gif

I think I kinda know what Jaymz means about the weird crowd...there was no consistency (?) There didn't seem to be much people going crazy, and yes I did see lots of people coming and going...I dunno.

My friend said after the show: "You know the one on the right with a chubby face (Rusty..), he looked MISERABLE, didn't he? I mean, he didn't even smile or anything!" Mmmm. I never thought of Andy like that. I think it's just that Damian is too smiley and chatty! laugh.gif

Damian did a solo acoustic guitar performance. Beautiful lurrve song. lol
"This is where I stop being an arsehole for 2 and a half minutes. I know you all want me to be an arsehole...."

And I love the way Damian said "This is the second verse!" during Oh Lately...

Oh and a good support band called Dog is Dead.

Definitely going to see them again in January! rolleyes.gif
  • gig was amazing, white knuckles is already one of my favest okgo songs ever

spoke with tim and dan for a good while before the gig, as i went into the bar before hand and they were there

then i listened to them all warming up, on the new songs, and that was really really awesome also, never heard a band warm up so close before

Dog is Dead, are my boys from nottingham! they are amazing, talked to them after the gig also for a good while, about how amazing (shit) nottingham is!
  • Ahhhh I feel like I should've now. Never mind.

I miss Dan sad.gif I haven't seen him since Florida in 2006. How depressing is that!
