what is this very important message? i'll have to get to it tomorrow
anyway,in other news this show was awesome after not seeing OK GO for almost 3 years! (may 02 was the last time they hit up ATX right?) i'm so psyched for the new album, i cant believe how great all the new songs sounded!
sooo great show, got the "encore" on cam and will have to post that soon!
the new songs sounded great. i tried to record them, but i pressed the wrong button on my digital audio player and it didn't record. blast. i video recorded les mis. but i accidentally cut off the last bit b/c i wasn't sure how much memory i had left. sorry. i'm new at all this.
no ripped pants tonight, thankfully, ha ha. the most memorable part of the whole shebang was tim's head steaming. that was rad.
the new songs show very much promise, and now I am doing everything I can not to invent a time machine for the sole reason of travelling forward to July '05...I could do it, but I really don't want to jeopardize all of humanity like that...
So I guess it's back to useless waiting around for me...
Just like the LAST OKGO ALBUM that didn't come out until September (what a long wait). heh heh.
the point being: the show was oh so very good. Rusty did very well although he seemed a bit shy, Les Mis was awesome, choreographed dance was awesome, and I still have Invincible stuck in my head, that is one good song.
It was mind-blowingly incredibly unfathomably awesome. The guys put on a great performance as usual. The new songs (and there were a lot) all sounded pretty great. Some of them went back to like a 70s rock style sound, which I love, since 70s rock is my favorite kind of music ever. I don't really get why they're wearing suits at all the shows on this tour and doing the dance every time, since they didn't do that before, but the dance was indeed highly entertaining. We weren't terribly close to the stage, and we were quite left of center, so I wasn't paying much attention to how the new Andy was doing, but I think it was all good. The guitars sounded pretty different from on the album, but whatever. It was fun.
This show was awesome. I absolutely adore the new Andy. He was so cute, and very sweet when I met with him after the show. The dance was shit-your-pants hilarious. Damian was SO funny through out the entire show. And after the show, especially, he was one of the nicest guys I have ever met. I think it is so incredibly cool of the guys to stay after and meet with fans, while most bands just leave. I totally fell in love with all of them. Damian was so sweet, and I got to have a big smelly birthday hug from him before I left.
I would so love OK Go to come back.
And RiverSylphide, you are a god! Too cool that you got that act recorded. I was trying to describe it to all my friends and family, but it just wasn't good enough. Now that the real thing is available, that's great. Thank you!
Thank you OK Go, for one damn amazing show. This was the greatest birthday present.
yah the show totally kicked ass! the outfits were so cool. pinstripes and blue tennis shoes, awesome. they played great and i was laughing so hard w/the dance. i swear the guys have mad dance skill and they keep it old school.
damian was soo funny on stage and interactive w/the crowd.
great job on andy's part learning almost two cd's in 9 days.
Dan was awesome on the drum solo
Tim was great on the bass and the glasses totally rocked.
the guys were great to stay and meet the fans. they were super sweet and great pics w/them in my collect of concerts pics.
damain was rad for talking on the phone w/my friend who couldn't come. plus he offered me a cookie. way nice.
so yah next time okgo comes to texas, i'm so dropping whatever i'm doing to see them again. they are so worth it. i have to say i think this tops weezer as my favorite show.

before the show i was wondering how things would sound sans a second guitar in some songs... i think it was made up for rather well. i was particularly struck by the way rusty/andy played the little note-dropping type thing in the chorus of you're so damn hot (right after the line "you're so damn hot"). i don't know what it was exactly... i think he syncopates the rhythm of it in an ever so slightly different way. kinda weird, but very cool sounding... i quite liked it.
i'm jealous. i wish i could've gone. i live in mcallen tx...waaaaaaaaaay at the bottom of the state of texas. :-/ anyways...i didn't have money...so i put on the ok go cd and visualized i was there. i made a big pot of spaghetti and just closed my eyes while slurping my spaghetti away listening to ok go. ::sigh::
