  • i absolutely loved it its one of my favorite movies ever now "MUMBLER" ya i couldnt help but just smile and watch the whole time haha i was entranced loved it laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
  • I saw it the day it came out...and I fell in love. I already loved Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, and I didn't think it was possible to possess any more love for them...but I was wrong. They are geniuses. I love that movie, and will continue to go see it until it is out of theatres and on DVD. Yes, I love it.
  • I haven't seen it yet, but it looks pretty bad, but now it sounds pretty good, but i'm thinking that it will never live up to the original?
  • It's really not all that much like the original...so no, it couldn't live up to that one. But I don't think it was trying to live up to it either. You should definitely check it out.
  • Has it got all the songs in it again, or is it jus really dark? Jus wish they'd stop remaking classic films! They should of done the Great Glass Elevator, thats a superb story!
  • It has songs in it...but new songs. None of the ones from the original film. There's really no way to compare the original to the remakes...the only real similarities is that they are both based on the book and they have the same characters...everything else is so completely different.

We're just running our of original ideas...which is so sad. Is no one creative anymore?
  • Its give and take a bit. It seems that people these days dont like new and different as much as they used to. So many films are either remakes or adaptations of books, games, comics etc. Same with music in a way, theres been no revolution in music for years.. Its all fads

Not sure ive ever heard Jonboy Depp sing before? Is his voice as beautiful as his face?
  • This question is addressed to everyone who like the new movie: Did you also like the old version?
  • i really liked it. it's not a classic or anything, but it's certainly classic tim burton, and johnny depp was incredible, as was violet beuregard's mother. you can't compare it to the original, they're just completely different movies.

johnny depp doesn't sing - the oompa loompas do, mostly. i don't know if i liked that part, it was a little too over-done for me.
  • well i totally adored it, more than the original which i also adore hehe...

i guess its personal preference tho, but my parents both thought it was better than the original... i liked the fact that they sort of changed the end a bit and made it happy for everyone. i love tim burtons work, its so emotive...

and somebody today at work told me that she prefered madagascar to CATCF, because it was brighter. WTF, did she not see the film properly?! Its full of vivd colours and hehe anyways never mind. As soon as it comes off suspended i'll be going to see it for free as often as i can hehe. i love working at the cinema heh smile.gif
  • umm i think i've only seen the first one once or twice, i did like it, but i dont think i loved it, and that was when i was a lot younger, but i loved this one haha
  • I liked it better than the last one.
  • I loved the old one (and still do) but this one, I think, is one of the best movies to come out in a LONG TIME.

"Everything here is eatable. I'm eatable. But that is called cannabilism my dear children and is looked down upon in most societies."

    haha
  • Maybe I should rephrase my question...

Did any of you not like at all the old one but now you like the new one? Cause I hated the old one and I'm trying to decide if I want to see it or not...

that, along with the walking into the glass elevator, had me laughing for ages hehe...

and its nothing at all like the original, i reckon you should go see it. alternatively just wait til you can rent it or something?!
  • my girlfriend and my best friends girlfriends hated the old one said it was boring, and my gf "really liked" this one and his gf thought it was "alright, but weird" oh well what do you expect from tim burton man this movie rocked if you dont like it ill send you a dollar laugh.gif

i liked the part where his dad was like i wont be here when you get back, and then ..... well dont wanna ruin what happens but man that was funny
  • I loved it! It was so different to the first one, but in a really good way!

"Don't you want to know our names?"
"I don't see how it would make any difference"

    "I'm Veruca Salt"
"I always though a veruca was a type of fungus that grew on your foot"

    Hehe biggrin.gif
