Well, I gotta give some props...

Just saw the "Million Video" and I have to say it is pretty brilliant. Very funny, and well choreographed. Wonder if that was the first take or not as it seems seemless, like they actually did it all in one take. It is probably the funniest video I've seen in a long time!

  • its all done in one take! they do it at there live shows
  • ya! it's super awesome live!
  • I bet it is really funny live! I just showed my mom the video and even she liked it. I don't know if that's a good sign or not! I usually go by what she hates.
  • normally i would agree with you, but with okgo..whats not to like
  • What's even better is trying to learn it. It's thrilling, crazy awesome and a bit humbling.

What? The ballroom dance part is tricky!
  • I love the little "fight" in the middle of it. It's just so funny. I don't get why Okgo doesn't get more airplay for their songs and videos. I've always thought they were one of the most original bands out there. Maybe that's the problem, they aren't doing the same $h!t (can you cuss on this board?) as everyone else. rolleyes.gif
  • They don't get more airplay because Capital isn't willing to shell out teh dollars to get them on MTV and stuff. At least that's what I've come to undertand. But I'd rather them be underplayed and original than have them do the same stuff as everyone else just to get on TRL or something. I mean, how do you think "A Million Ways" is the most downloaded music video EVER without being played on top 40 stations? It's because NOBODY else out there is doing anything like what they are.

Okay, so the Backstreet Boys danced around a lot in their vids. But come on- did the BSB have their vids downloaded 3 million times? I don't think so. wink.gif

Also, the vid is all one take, but I think they did it a few times before actually getting it perfect. I think I heard Damian say that in an interview somewhere, but I don't remember which one...

The Matrix fight is the best bit. I keep trying to get decent pics of it at the shows, but my camera is stupid and slow. tongue.gif

biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif That's so cute. I <3 you, Connyfoo. The Rusty-Damian dance bit is one of the best parts. I still have to round up friends and try to learn the dance with them...

It's amazing when you do get the manpower to pull it off. We're having a dance-off in a couple of nights with some of our guy friends. Picture this: four extremely synchronized girls paired against five equally danceinomically talented guys; OK Go's a Million Ways against Fatboy Slim's Praise You.

I'll let you know the results. It should be interesting.

Well, the one thing I give their label credit for is not forcing them to make their music more "mainstream" and actually letting them do such a risky video. If I see one more stupid rock video of just a band standing around playing their instruments and lip synching with little "scenes" interspersed between, I'll scream. Even more than I do now! I do wish MTV and VH1 would play this video.
  • Well, my little bro thinks this video is hysterical too. Everybody I've shown it to loves it. I think they have a hit! Too bad not many people know what a hit is anymore, unfortunately.

Oh, yeah, me too. Then I wouldn't have to explain who they are every time somebody asks me who my favourite band is.
  • I introduced my friend to OK Go through the A Million Ways dance (since she's a dancer and I knew she'd get a laugh out of it). From there, we were determined to learn the entire dance. So:
1)We used to dance backstage while rehersing The Importance of Being Earnest. We mastered the fight scene, though I doubt we could ever come close to the awesomeness that is the Damian-Tim teamwork.
2)For our musical, a group of girls has decided to pull of the dance for a cast party. I can't wait.

See what joy OK Go brings?

Wait, did they actually play "A Million Ways" and then danced to it at the end??? That's awesome!!!! I love seeing the dance, but I'd really love to hear it played live, too, 'cause it's such a great song. Lucky!
  • UPDATE: we won.

    Obviously.
The guys had no chance (although they did a nice job of rocking the awkward thing).

Ha. OK Go can not lose!
  • Congrats Connyfoo! I'm suprised the boys didn't go blind from the shining OK Goesque glory.
  • I think they were too busy nursing their battle wounds. We left deep scars on their pride.

    I agree
i have tried it with one of my friends but if i want to be able to do it more often i have to teach people. That sounds braggy..........never mind...all i am trying to say is that only one of my friends other than her knows it and she is embarressed to do it on the feild at school during recess due to what her other friends will think. she is in another grade, you see. she says she loves it but whenever i ask her if we can practis it, she acts like she is part of the resestence

    ...is it me? sad.gif
