This is a really beautiful picture of Damian:

Damian Kulash has a real rapport with the audience, making everyone feel like they are part of a big party but never letting them forget that it's his show.

    It's so true.
  • Wow! Thanks for the great review and pictures! Welcome!!
  • Yeah those pictures are nice and you've done a good review. *Sighs* I envy you people who've seen them live in concert. I guess I'll never have an experience like yours. sad.gif

Sorry, sorry, sorry, for not answering this sooner. It's not a secret, but I was basking in the adulation and totally forgot!

It's the very non amazing Canon A7oo. Probably all of you have a camera as good or better. The difference is that I take photos a lot and have for a long time. Also, I take loads. Probably 40-50 at Ok Go alone of which you are only seeing 20%. I don't use anything better because it's strictly a hobby and I like having a camera I can have in my bag all the time.

To aspiring photographers, I think the key is to not use a flash and wait til those moments when it's bright on stage.

Again, everyone. Thanks for the kind words, and to jedi for naming my most popular photo on flickr!
  • When Damian went: "Dude! I have to say you are one seriously small dude. I'm not used to seeing little people at our shows." I definitely thought the person he was talking to was like a midget or something and I was like "wow, I can't believe Damian's being so insensitive."

I too was wondering what kind of camera was being used, mainly because I didn't think that Neumo's allowed cameras over 5mp, hence my decision to not bring my Rebel, and to use my concert camera instead.

I don't know if it was just because I was using my crappy concert camera, but I didn't find any time where there was enough light for me to have a fast enough shutter speed to get a decent, non-blurry picture without flash.

Wow, really? I need a new camera- I have an Olympus D640, which is the oldest and slowest thing in the world (though I do have to admit, it really surprises me every now and again. I'm going to be kinda' sad to give it up.) I love Canons, but I've never been really smitten with the Powershot series. (Though I've been looking at the A640 for my birthday.) I'm in love with the new G7 or whatever it is, but it's far too expensive and far too advanced for me.

Concert photography is something that I've just gotten into, like in the past year. I take a RIDICULOUS number of pictures of OK Go- I think I got as high as 120 one time. 'Course, I don't pick and choose my best ones, so everyone gets to see my crappy ones as well, haha.

And yeah, I definitely try to avoid the flash as much as possible. Though with my Olympus, it's kinda' necessary sometimes....tongue.gif
