Oh man, do they have a new CD? I haven't really paid attention to them since when they used to co headline with Michael Tolcher.
Never be the Same used to be an obsessed over song.

oops, my bad. this should be the right one http://download.yousendit.com/503702B14F6A429E
  • 9 Crimes (demo) - Damian Rice
    Jolene - Ray Lamontagne
    Samson - Regina Spektor
    Rootless Tree- Damian Rice
    Divorce Song- Jason Mraz
  • This is more than five, but that's alright:

The Ship The Shot Its Selef- the Deadly Syndrome (myspace: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea...iendID=5067323)
    Skanky Panky- Kid Koala
    Float On- Modest Mouse
    It's a Pose- Nellie McKay
    Amazing Grace- Sufjan Stevens
Sodom, South Georgia- Iron & Wine
    Emily Kane- Art Brut
12-26/I Like Giants/Loose Lips/Lullabye for the Taken- Kimya Dawson
    O Valencia- the Decemberists
    YehYeh- They Might be Giants
Si Tu N'Etais Pas La- Frechel (from the amelie soundtrack. It's the song the blind man is playing on a record player in the metro when she first meets Nico.)
    Oh Mandy- the Spinto Band
  • Be With You-The Madhatters
the madhatters are an AMAZING men's college a capella group my friend & i have been completely infatuated w/ since we were freshmen in highschool. this is an older song, sang by a (cute) guy (with an awesome voice) who's no longer in the group because he graduated like, 3 years ago. but he was at the madhatters concert i went to on friday, selling shirts for the guys, so i finally met him, and now i totally have a mini-crush on him. it's like i'm back in highschool, and i kinda like it.

    Wizards in Winter- Trans-Siberian Orchestra
i saw them yesterday, and it was spectacular. the lighting for their show is brilliant. and i like this song, it's pretty sweet.

    It Won't Be For Long-Locksley
    <3

    Britney Spears Medley-The Madhatters
it's even more hilarious to see live, because they do stuff like this:
    image
but hearing a guy sing "not a girl, not yet a woman" is always funny.

    Doctors and Dealers-Dirty Pretty Things
    it's just a good song
  • yah i totally wanted to do it.

the long winters- fire island, ak
phoenix- if i ever feel better
    snow patrol- hands open
luzer- hello goodbye (i love this cover)
the flaming lips- mr. ambulance driver
  • ok-
#1- OK Go, The Lovecats. I don't know what it is about that song, but I absolutely love it! I'd love to hear them do that one live

    #2- Snow Patrol, Chasing Cars

    #3- The Fray, Hundred

#4- The Fray, How To Save A Live

#5- The Fray, Over My Head

And then there is always the last OK Go song I happened to listen to. They always pop into my head when I'm not listening to my music or attempting to sing the other songs on this list (I SUCK at singing, lol. That's why I love this nifty little room I've got here off to the side with my tv and computer. No one can hear me, lol). There is one part in Hundred that I'm actually getting pretty good at. Shocking ohmy.gif Generally this list changes quite frequently. They are (normally) songs with which I like but don't know the lyrics to, so the parts I DO know replay over and over again until I get sick and force myself to look up the lyrics. Once I've got the song down, it's not stuck in my head anymore (which I hate, because then I can actually sing the whole song. But, oh well). I do know all the words to #4 though. It's just a really good song. And the reason why I've got 3 Fray songs on there is cuz I just saw them the other night. So I'm kinda in this happy bubble again. Man, that mixed with that live OK Go concert set me on cloud 9!

    SEBASTIEN IS BACK!

Seb from Death From Above 1979 uploaded an awesome song on his myspace. He also says he'll be relasing a 7 inch for the holidays.

I've downloaded it... And have probably listened to it more than 30 times.... in 3 days.

    I'm totally obsessed.

    Its just that rad.

That song is too amazing. So sad... so nice.
  • Anything by Mates of State right now.

They sound vaguely like the New Pornographers and they're fun to dance to when I'm cooking (and by "cooking" I mean trying to make edible mac and cheese. Sous chef I am not.)
    ex. http://www.yousendit.com/download/dbfNAuq2p3k%3D

    Also:
Killer Queen because it's a CLASSIC. Seriously, anyone who has anything bad to say about that song deserves to be secluded to keep teir evil away from children.

And I'm listening to Poe's album "Haunted" which was written in conjunction with House of Leaves. It's creeping the hell out of me.
  • The 5 songs I am obsessed with right now are:

    1)"The Juice" by Rooney

    2)"Lonely Day" by Phantom Planet

3)"Wasted and Ready" by Ben Kweller

    4)"Simply Because" by Rooney

5)"Shout out Loud" by Amos Lee
  • 1) Love Somebody To Know - Hanson.
-----It's just so fun! It makes me smile.
    2) My Beautiful Rescue - This Providence
    -----Very pretty. Nice lyrics.

Actually I'm just doing those two, haha.
  • The new MCR album has been on repeat in my room since I got it. I feel bad cause I know that I'm driving my roommate crazy, but I just think it's a really fantastic album.
  • So basically I'm obsessed with the first five tracks of The Killers' Hot Fuss: "Jenny Was a Friend of Mine," "Mr. Brightside," "Smile Like You Mean It," "Somebody Told Me," and "All These Things That I've Done."

Especially "Mr. Brightside," "Smile," and "All These Things."

They really seem to define how I feel right now.
  • I can't stop listening to Soul Suckers by Amos Lee.
  • surrender- cheap trick

i started a joke- the wallflowers

    smashing young man- collective soul

new aged girl- dead eye dick

and were gonna go OLD SCHOOL

    tubthumping-chumbawumba
  • Soul Suckers- Amos Lee
    Colors- Amos Lee
    Wedding Dress- Matt Nathanson

    boo only three.
  • fleetwood mac - "rhiannon", "you make loving fun", and "dreams"

god, i forgot how totally awesome fleetwood mac is.

and i cant stop listening to 2 songs by a friend of a friend of mine. totally catchy and beautiful.

he's a local artist here in nyc.
bryan fenkart - "tuesday morning" and "i miss you"
    http://www.myspace.com/bryanfenkart

i highly recommend those 2. have had them on repeat for the past 3 days.
  • Because of my undying love for all things Spoon:

Spoon: The Book I Write (from the Stranger than Fiction soundtrack):
    http://download.yousendit.com/2F74113338583F06

And, because I have been watching Weeds like a maniac (and every time this theme song comes on, my roomies and I sing it at the top of our lungs, much to the amusement of whoever is watching it with us):
    Malvaina Reynolds: Little Boxes
    http://download.yousendit.com/27D23B8D412680B5

And, a song from one of the only bands I can listen to while studying and feel relaxed (for anyone still dealing with the hell that is finals week) (the other band is, weirdly enough, Gorillaz):

    The Books: Smells like Content
    http://download.yousendit.com/D368BEFE70B9C63E
(this honestly has the most beautiful and well-written lyrics I've ever heard. Any song that uses the word "paradigm" is A+)
