  • Just like these politically-correct freaks who have a problem with the word "Jesus." In HIGA's context, they're just saying the word as an expression. It's not like you have to convert to Christianity or whatever. The guys are not those people who go door to door in scary shrouds practically shrieking "Believe in our God or die!"

Uhh, actually I'm pretty sure that the reason it gets bleeped is because it's taking the (Christian) Lord's name in vain. It has nothing to do with Political Correctness. You can't say "Goddamn" due to FCC standards either. They bleep out the "God" not the "Damn".
  • I wouldn't really consider it "in vain" though, again in HIGA's context.

And they even replaced it with "Goodness" out on Jay Leno, I believe, where far worse things are said.

Well, my point is Kidz Bop is just...Just give your kids some worth and make/let them listen to valuable musical contributions to society.

I don't see it as such either, but that's the reason for the censorship. The morality police see any phrase that uses "God" or "Jesus" without specifically talking about them or in praise as taking it in vain. That's what "Taking the Lord's name in vain" means - saying it for no real reason (ie, "it's just an expression"). I too think it's silly, but don't think that it's because people are offended by the word "Jesus" in this context. Trust me on this, there's a reason for the "DJ" in my screen name. :-)

I agree that Kidz Bop is a waste. My parents bought me the real recordings when I was a kid and if I had questions they'd talk to me about them. Nevertheless I hope the guys make piles of money off of it. Or, you know, enough for a nice dinner out. Or to buy Mr. Mr. Mr. Jorge, Whom I Adore, Whom I Adore, Whom I Adore his gold house. Whatever.

Ditto. And we can come over to Mr. Mr. Mr. Jorge, Whom I Adore, Whom I Adore, Whom I Adore's house and pick up whatever chips off.

    ok what's this Kidz bop?

kidz bop is a cd that a bunch of i think adults and kids sing to popular songs that they redo to make them for kids.
  • oh bugger...I don't use iTunes...
  • The Chicken Noodle Soup one is so ridiculous.
  • I've listened to a sample of it (I won't download it!please every time someone downloads it they think they're having sucess in killing music) but defenetly the worst is "here it goes". Is it legal to do something like that??The kids will be traumatized with such horrible music!!
  • I'm appalled by the whole Kidz Bop thing but I think when I actually listen to it I'll have a good laugh.
  • I think it's stupid as hell this censorship police stuff, I mean no one's a better person or not for saying "FUCKING HELL!" instead of "OH MY GOODNESS THIS STINKS!" It's not like a kid's going to be corrupted, or they're going to say it as adults anyway, I mean I guess hardcore lesbian porn on Nickelodeon or something might confuse some kids, but whatever. Our society should be more open and less tetollating cos it's just suscribing to one set of rules after another in the hopes that JESUS not being on the CD will account for their shitty lives,

So Capitol shouldn't have liscened the track, Kidz Bop fucking suckks.

The almighty King of the Hill quote: "You're not making Christinanity better, you're just making rock worse."
  • huh.gif Guys, chill out. It's not that big of a deal.

Exactly. It's not even a big deal at all. rolleyes.gif
  • I know the CD thing is unimportant, but I agree with CuriousSymptoms about the censorship issue. If kids can't deal with the same music as adults, it says more about the children than the music itself.

There's no point in shielding them from swearing, it's a part of society. And shielding them from the use of "Jesus" or "sleazy" is even more ridiculous, in my opinion.
  • hah, I'm not killing myself over Kidz Bop, just the whole idea.
Like how they won't sell condoms to kids, oh the kids will just get pregnent, that's better rolleyes.gif
  • thats getting way off topic.
  • it's not that off topic, i'm sure he used condoms with the here it goes again chick.
  • ok then go ahead get off topic and talk about condom
