    I agree with that -- the last ten minutes or so did seem kind of montage-y at the expense of greater detail.     Tonetoile: If you like Waitress, I cannot more strongly recommend her other directorial efforts. It's been a while since I've seen Sudden Manhattan, but I'll Take You There is wonderfully silly and poignant. While she wanted to be remembered as a filmmaker, two early movies she starred in -- The Unbelievable Truth and Trust -- inspired me to become a filmmaker and are worth seeking out. (The Unbelievable Truth is available on DVD -- Trust, which IMO is better, is only available on VHS and airs on IFC from time to time. I was completely gobsmacked by it and recommend that you seek it out.)

    i saw ocean's 13 on friday!
    i thought it was good.
    i love all the oceans movies.
    13 is better than 12 i think, but not as good as 11.

    I completely agree about the Dr. Pomatter resolution. Thinking about it, I wouldn't have wanted it to end in any other way.

    Thanks so much for the suggestions! I'll definitely look into them. Thankfully, I still have a VHS player at my house, so I'll go searching for Trust.

    P.S. I'd recommend seeing "Paris, je t'aime." It's a movie consisting of about 15 shorts, each directed by a different director and each representing a different part of Paris. They all flow together and are meant to be watched as a set and some are just plain brilliant.

    I would see it again and oh my god so good.

    And we watched Shaun of the Dead.

    And lo, it was good.

    i bought the special edition of pulp fiction last week and i can't stop watching it. it's the best tarantino's films, although my favourite films are reservoir dogs and nightmare before christmas... maybe because i like tim burton and quentin tarantino a lot biggrin.gif

    I want to see Old Boy, Trainspotting, Infernal Affairs, The Godfather Part II, Pan's Labyrinth, Smokin' Aces, Driving Lessons, Se7en, The Game, yeah, I've got a few films I want to see.

    Also, to everyone who hasn't seen Stranger Than Fiction, see it now. It's great.

    That movie freaked me the hell out. I remember the movie being over and everyone leaving in a haze, like they were exhausted from simply watching the movie. It was great, but it was overwhelming.

    The only thing I didn't like about it was the fact that it was hardly to do with the labyrinth and all that stuff. They may as well have named it Captain Vidal instead of Pan's Labyrinth, as it focused so much more on him.

    The Pale Man will forever haunt my dreams from now on.

    Holy shit I know. I remember trying to explain it to my friends and them just NOT GETTING how terrifying the Pale Man was. Oh my god.

    P.S. I think it was the more-than-necessary violence that got to me. When the Captain had to sew his own face, I couldn't watch.

    Even though I was incredibly frightened, I felt that the Pale Man's scene wasn't long enough. And the Faun was so evil, it was awesome.

    The scene I couldn't watch was when the Captain got stabbed (Especially when his mouth is torn).

    i highly suggest people watch the mystery science theatre 3000 series
    if you dont know what that is ill try to explain.
    its a 'movie series/tvshow' where theres this guy who was sent into space and he built robots to talk with, and the ppl who sent him there force them to watch crappy movies (really old crappy movies) and so u see them sitting on the bottom of the screen commenting and making jokes thru the whole movie, they take breaks and do little skits.
    its hilarious.
    they dont make any new ones but they have started a new series of riff tracks
    they do not just crappy movies now but new crappy movies and good ones.

    i sound like a nerd..
    anway. i saw killer shrews in mst3k and it was a stupid movie but worth it if u like shity movies.

    Just saw Ratatouille last weekend, which was one of the best things I've seen all year -- it was cute and fun, but it had a really good message and the animation was amazing.

    Also watched Brick on TV a few days ago -- a film noir set in a high school. Amazing, amazing, amazing. If you like film, check it out -- you won't be disappointed.

    just saw harry potter, soooo good. i'm surprised, danrad has seriously improved, and snape was hilarious in this latest.

    I just saw Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. That's some funny stuff right there.
