haha, yeah I know. I'm sure they're going to be coming around me. I was just pondering ridiculous plans about going over that way for a about a week and going to several shows in a row haha, not gonna happen
Fantasy: We all become GOheads and follow the band around in our VW bus, setting up camp wherever they are selling the crafy shit we make to pay our way taking a lot of bong hits, and not washing for days at a time.
Ahh nice! Yeah, I'd wait to see them live, personally, too. FYI, the songs sound great, though!
Depressing side note: I tried to record the whole show (I'm a bootlegger), but my equipment didn't want to cooperate, so I only have the first two and a half songs of the encore. *sigh* If anyone else taped, I'd love you forever if you shared. I'll be sharing the two and a half songs at some point, but on top of recording equipment failure, I've also got major computer issues, so it'll be a while. All my electronics are revolting against me!!!
I listened to little clips of the songs by skipping around the vids you posted, ezorvera. But I can't bring myself to listen to an entire thing. I'm really lovin' this new sound, though!
Aww, don't worry about it, nikki. Technology acts up on everyone.
Now I'm incredibly sad that I'm here in Chicago and not on the east coast.
Thanks nikki, that was most excellent. Hey, K, you'll be seeing them in a few weeks, so you'll get the live version in no time.
And I agree with Shalu, I just can't listen to the new stuff. I suppose I'll have to wait till they make their way to the Midwest or when the CD is released, whichever comes first.
Hi ladies (and Andy and Joe)! I was going to leave you all to be surprised with more of the specifics, but YouTube's not left that up to me (the ones that are labeled "Fireworks" and "Water" by griffenmorena are two of my faves). Oh Well. Here are my pictures from last night: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2175...912&l=6a79a
A few comments: Damian has apparently forgotten the words to his older songs. I had to help him with Oh Lately. He thanked me for that (during our two-second conversation at the end of the night). For the record, his hair has grown in a bit. Not quite Invincible video length, but it looks like it's growing back. Andy had an equipment failure. He was playing tubular bells (I think) and his mallet broke during the song on the vid labeled "water". It was the moment of the night. Well, except for when he almost forgot to get to the mic to sing one of his harmony lines, causing Katy and I to laugh, which he heard and laughed back at us. Tim plays keys at the end of the show on a keyboard that says "Nord Lead". No, Really. Dan is the nicest guy on the face of the planet, as I've said a gagillion times. Katy and I had a long chat with him.
Haven't watched any of the new songs. I don't know if I should wait to see it live or watch it now. I think I'm going to wait.
Ooo, thanks Kalinda. I listened to parts of it. It really does have a sort of "Plastic Soul" to it, Ok Go styled. If you're not a David Bowie fan, that statement made absolutely no sense. Thanks to all for posting so quickly. The lads look lovely. I miss them. Thank you for the vicarious experience.
Edit: Gah, I hope they'll come to MS, but the chances are almost nil.
And I don't think I want to watch the videos with the new songs yet, either. I think I'm gonna wait for a show or the CD, too. It just feels kinda like a spoiler or something if I listen to too much of it. But they better get themselves over to this area super soon after this little tour! I want an OK Go concert so bad

gah, I'm so excited now.

UGH! I am excited about New England shows too, and I don't even live there - I just love it there! Seeing them out east would be sooo goood!
EDIT: Maybe I should put this in its own thread.
I'm not bitter, really. Just excited for all this!

I plan on posting some sort of longer report here, but it's probably going to look more or less like what I'm posting at my blog, so you can go read that in the meantime.

Best line of the night: "Note to Mom: Nothing untoward happened here, I just poured beer down her chest."
Hahaha, that was CLASSIC. I wish I could've seen the girl's face when he accidentally poured it on her.
Good god.
I want to run my violin-playing digits through it.
