SOLD OUT?!

edited November -1 in OK Go
So within 4 hours, the Music Hall of Williamsburg SOLD OUT!

I, stupidly, forgot they go on sale at noon. Can anyone help me out? This is the only show actually close to me and I was definitely planning on going to. Anyone get an extra ticket?

I'll be so crushed if I don't go sad.gif

  • Keep checking Craigslist. Right now, if there's anything posted, it's going to be scalpers who'll want an arm and a leg. If you wait until it's closer to the show (definitely within a week or two), you'll find tickets from people who realise they now can't go and just want to make back the money they would otherwise lose.

Check the price of the tickets, figure out how much you would have spent in service fees and such, and decide how much over that you're willing to pay. If you're in the city or can get to the city, it's probs better to meet up somewhere and get the tickets, as you're definitely sure you're not getting scammed.
  • you can also try the music hall box office.

and - they will release more tickets closer to the day of the show. just check back everyday the week before.
  • They were sold out in 20 minutes =/ I missed them too! So bummed sad.gif

I don't know why this hasn't been listed under shows but according to Music Hall's web site a second show has been added on 4/29. smile.gif

    THANK GOD. Best news ever!
  • If I can just say? Last year the MHoW show sold out, and we bought our tickets from StubHub for $Ridiculous. On our way to the venue there was a bitch scalping. She had a stack at least an INCH thick. I am kind of inclined to believe that there's something a little shady going on this time as well (not to disparage the boys, but the MHoW was NOT at capacity last year, I've seen it at capacity and this was not it). But best believe that I will be online at noon on Wednesday for my ticket to 4/29.

Crap. I'm gonna have to take time off work.

    Fucking Scalper Bastards.
  • I cannot BELIEVE how quickly this sold out. That is definitely a little tooooo shady.

But, nevertheless, I dropped a whopping $58 PER TICKET on StubHub to get a ticket for the first show. UNBELIEVABLE. How do these people sleep at night? And honestly, not for nothing, but I used to live in the area and had no idea that there were so many OK Go fans to SELL OUT MHoW and require a second show.

But I will be at both. So join me!
  • what I want to know is how the heck do these scalpers operate? mad.gif
  • By buying up all the tickets to concerts they know they'll be able to make their money back on. I hope they lost a lot of money on OK Go last year (which considering the capacity of the venue, I'll bet they did).

StubHub is ridiculous. I found tickets there, but once I realised that it was not only going to be expensive BUT they force you to have them shipped FedEx regardless of how far in advance the show is, I decided to go for Craigslist. I think I got my ticket to last year's MHoW show for $30, $35, I think.

You can call the box office, but if the website says sold out, odds are that's what the box office will tell you, too. Not so sure about them releasing more tickets - it's certainly possible, but you'd need to be at the right place at the right time to snag them.

Honestly, if you can't get tickets for the 4/29 show, Craigslist is your best option, I think. I've found tickets for loads of shows that way. Hold tight, because there's really NO way that show sold out legitimately that quickly. The closer you get to show date, the lower price will be, believe me.

ETA: Oh wow, I didn't realise you'd actually already bought a ticket off of StubHub..........

yeah I know. I didn't want to chance it on Craigslist because I've had a not-so-good experience (guy never showed with my tix day of). Also, it was at the time the second show wasn't announced so I was FREAKING OUT thinking I wasn't going to get a chance to see them by me.

But thanks for the heads up. $58 per ticket, when they were originally $20 was a real punch in the gut. But, whatevs. It's cool. I got 'em.

It's just really shitty that scalpers do that to people who legitimately want to go, and take advantage of fans like that. But you can bet I'll be gettin my next batch of tickets, at noon exactly, on Wednesday for the second show. tongue.gif
  • Sam and I have tickets for 4/29. No freaking scalper is getting me this time!

Ohh yeah, that's another thing, it's better to get your ticket before the day of the show, unless it's a last-minute decision...in any case, I've had mainly positive experiences doing exchages via Cragislist, so I'd say give it another go next time. smile.gif
  • So is anyone else going to the BK shows other than me and Rach?

  • You need to open another show in Minneapolis!!  For the Rock the Garden Festival only members of the venue got tickets and it sold out BEFORE it was open to the PUBLIC.  I was realllllly looking forward to seeing you guys but I couldn't get tickets!!!  I've been waiting for months, waiting for years, waiting for you...! Please add another show!
