Build your own setlist

edited November -1 in OK Go

Boredom can sometimes lead to creativeness.

Imagine you have complete control over OK Go's next setlist, what songs would you choose?

Restrictions:

1. You can only choose 20 songs (covers may be used)

Here is the setlist I would love to see live:

Invincible

White Knuckles

Bye Bye Baby

Aren't We Dozy?

End Love

There's A Fire

Oh Lately It's So Quiet

1000 Miles an Hour

It's a Disaster

Last Leaf

Get Over It

It's Tough To Have A Crush

We Dug a Hole

I Want You So Bad I Can't Breathe

Needing/Getting

Crash The Party

This Too Shall Pass

Encore:

Television Television

Skyscrapers

Unrequited Orchestra of Locomotion

Now it's your turn. Have at!

Comments

  • This is a great idea for a thread, thanks :)

    1) down for the count !!!!! (thingamaboop would be GREAT on this song!!!)

    2) oh my little kitten

    3) white knuckles

    4) DWYW

    5) HIGA

    6) Television Television

    7) c-c-c-cinnamon lips

     8) it's tough to have a crush

    9) end love

    10) Clementine

    11) in the glass

    12) what to do (not on handbells, do not get me wrong I love them, but I want to hear the rocking full version live)

    13) Jeopardy (cover) (Greg Kihn band, if you don't know it here it is in all its gorgeous 80s splendor) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v.....re=related

    14) the fix is in

    15) two of us (Beatles cover) an homage to Damian and Tim's longstanding friendship

    16) crash the party

    17) Rock-N-Roll Suicide (Bonerama must be present, yes)

    18) a million ways

    19) the house wins

    20) EDIT - Pop Life (Prince)

  • I can't come up with a proper list right now, I haven't got that many free hours to fantasize.  However, I wanted to commend the choices of cover songs so far (I was listening to Greg Kihn recently, and not that you mention it, it would be fabulous from OK Go!). Also "Two of Us"- If that one ever happens, I want a front row seat!

Not being familar with the setlist histories, I'm unsure what Cheap Trick songs the band has done. Can someone enlighten me. Because I could probably fill half this 20 with Cheap Trick covers I want to hear OK Go do!

"Pop Life" is a great choice for a Prince cover. I'm thinking I'd put my vote on "17 Days", though.

  • Good idea ^^ 17 days is the sh*t!!

I hope they add some more shows this fall, I'm sure they will. Last fall was amazing, with all of the little tiny venues in little tiny towns in the middle of nowhere. I'm not counting on that happening again, sadly Cry

  • Good idea, Becky.

I'm taking 21 songs, because this setlist would have people in such a frenzy of happiness that they'd have to play an extra.

    1) The House Wins (I think this is a GREAT opener)

    2) Needing/Getting

    3) No Sign of Life (if I didn't include this, Adam would be mad at me)

    4) It's Tough to Have a Crush (if I didn't include this, I would be mad at me)

    5) 1000 MPH (seriously, one of the sweetest songs they've ever done)

    6) White Knuckles (it's dance time again)

    7) Don't Ask Me

    8) All is Not Lost

    9) Crash the Party

    10) Oh Lately it's So Quiet

    11) AntMusic (it's classic covers time, and if I didn't include this Adam would kill me)

    12) Hold the Line (same, except this is my favorite OK Go classic cover)

    13) Back from Katmandu

    14) You're So Damn Hot (do the "oh" Damian.  For me.  Just this once.)

    15) There's a Fire (hearing this live back at the Downtown in '03 was probably the moment I became an OK Go fan)

    16) Return

    17) Last Leaf

    18) This Too Shall Pass (because with the last two being back-to-back we'll all be sobbing uncontrollably)

    19) WTF?

    20) Unrequited Orchestra of Locomotion (I almost left this out, but then I saw it in Becky's list and it had to be included)

    21) Do What You Want (because it's the best closer they have, and I can't imagine the show ending any other way)

  • Skyscrapers

    HIGA

    WTF

    Return

    White Knuckles

It's Tough To Have A Crush...

    Unrequited Orchestra of Locomotion

    There's A Fire

    Invincible

    A Million Ways

    This Too Shall Pass

    The House Wins

    Rats & Spit

    IWYSBICB

    All Is Not Lost

    Back From Kathmandu

    Let It Rain

    Last Leaf

    Encore:

    In The Glass

    Hello, My Treacherous Friends
  • I can't do a whole setlist now, but in case I don't have time for another three weeks, I'm just going to say that mine would require the following songs that they never do in concert and I hate it:

WTD (Handbells) (Okay so they did before but they need to again shhhh)

    Let it Rain

    Shooting the Moon

    Let's Crash the Party

    Wave of Mutilation

    1000 MPH

    The House Wins

And I'd just kinda love to see C-C-C-Cinnamon lips

Or any song off of Appendices but that won't happen ever..
  • For Me?

    1. WTF?

    2. Here It Goes Again

    BACK TO REGULAR

    19. In the Glass

And If they wanna do an encore they can do one of their dances (ie, A Million Ways, C-C-C-Cinnamon Lips)

*Am I the only one who thinks this would be awesome?
  • This is the most impossible thing to do ever

    oh wait it's not

    Dream Playlist:

    'PLAY EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'

    HEHEHE

OKAY, but seriously, it would take me hours to build this. the only thing I know for sure is 'Louisiana Land' would be included (you know me, xoxo) and of course

    oh my little kitten.

    Haha.

It'd take me forever to build one, too. It's so hard to choose, especially if you're like me and your favorite song changes with your mood.

I will sit down someday and put some serious thought into this... someday... someday. Maybe during break in December... I WILL do it, though.

(Someone should totally get on my back about doing this, haha)
  • Editing seems to be off for this thread, so I'll post this seperately: I would actually replace Last Leaf with Shortly Before the End and move it to an earlier spot.

I know, it would be awesome.  Sometime I'm going to devise a whole setlist with unusual arrangements.
  • I think I will make a setlist with unusual arrangements too.  Here goes:

    1. I Want You So Bad I Can't Breathe (Accordions instead of guitars)

    2. White Knuckles (Banjo aggression)

    3. Unrequited Orchestra of Locomotion (Acoustic guitars, glockenspiel)

    4. WTF? (Acoustic guitars, glockenspiel)

    5. Last Leaf (Distorted electric guitar, bleepmachine, cowbell)

    6. Needing/Getting (With the car)

    7. C-C-C-Cinnamon Lips (Acoustic guitar, glockenspiel, cowbell)

    8. Television, Television (Banjo aggression)

    9. Back From Kathmandu (Bass guitar, harpsichord, standard percussion)

    10. In The Glass (Accordion, glockenspiel, acoustic guitar, cowbell)

    11. Return (Bass guitar, bleepmachine)

    12. Don't Ask Me (Handbells)

    13. Skyscrapers (Acoustic guitar, tambourine, bleepmachine)

    14. Hello, My Treacherous Friends (Banjo, synth, clean-tone electric guitar)

    15. It's A Disaster (Acoustic guitar; Damian would wander out into the crowd for this one.)

    16. Broken Cars (SDR cover, with Andy singing) (Harpsichord, bleepmachine, cowbell)

    17. Get Over It (Clean-tone electric guitar, harmonica)

    18. Futility Engine (Calixto Chinchile cover) (Acoustic guitar, glockenspiel, standard percussion)

    Encore:
