I think we should make this a twofer.
Pee-Wee Herman will be performing on Broadway at the same time the boys will be at T5. We could see the boys on Friday and see Pee-Wee on Saturday. Anyone in for this? It would be my first ever Broadway show. IF I make it to NY of course.
jedi, I totally agree. MHoW is a perfect size. T5 is sort of big, but if I remember correctly (I saw Modest Mouse there some years ago) it has general admission, but you have the option of sitting in some seats at the back or being on the floor. It's a lot bigger, and will be a totally different experience than MHoW, especially since it's right in Times Square, but if we go early (like I plan to) we'll be up front and not notice. :) Hope you come!
becky, I am SO down. PeeWee is awesome and we could catch it in previous. Don't be a tease, make it to NY! And everyone needs to see a Broadway show ATLEAST once. Kill 2 birds with one stone :)

I was hoping that Avenue Q would have been my first, but I'd so much rather have Pee-Wee pop my Broadway cherry.
As of now, I'm leaning very heavily to the affirmative. We just need to figure out if we will be seeing Pee-Wee, which show it will be. There's a 2pm and an 8pm for that Saturday. I don't need to be up close, so the cheapest tix would be best.

I told Chris today that I'm thinking of going! I really need something to look forward to.
I just have a request to the other boardies flying in. I'd like to make sure my flight arrives around the same time as someone else so I wouldn't have to make my way around NY alone.
I've never been to NYC so this is both scary and exciting!

Anyone from my area (Virginia) driving up and want company? Otherwise, I'll probably take the train. Does anyone have any ideas for a hotel? I'd love to share with somebody or bodies.
Debbie, there is no way you're going to travel around NYC alone. Not that I don't think you could do it if you had to, but I'm going to take care of you and that's that.
Bev, I'd offer you a spot in my car, but I'm full up already! My friend Stacey is coming, plus I have to pick up Katie and Debbie at their airports, and potentially Becky and Suzanne as well. Talk to Amy, she's coming from Arlington.
As for the hotel situation, Stacey's dad might be able to get us a good rate. Let's get a count going.
Katy, love, all I can think of is your reaction in Portland to a certain opening act's lead singer talking about playing at T5... LOL! I was waiting for the negative reaction to the T5 announcement! It was inevitable though. They kept "selling out" in Brooklyn. Really what needs to happen is the scalper laws need to be enforced (...and stubhub needs to be taken out).
Becky, I could be down for Pee Wee. The matinee will probably be way cheaper though. Should we walk to the theater wearing cloaks and boots after breaking our fast with a pizza? Maybe we can wait up all night for Pee Wee to call us, with the hotel phone between us like a totemmic.

I've checked into Philly, Newark, LGA and JFK with both the NY airports having the most flight options at the best prices. I still have plenty of time so I'll continue to look. I really don't want to inconvenience you.
And Becky, I'd love to see Pee-Wee on Broadway! I'm in for that too! Then I can tell all my non-OK Go people that I went to NYC to see a Broadway show rather than the real reason.

I will most likely be living in Baltimore at the time and hopefully have a car by then, so I will be able to make stops at NY airports. Let me know about hotel rates. If you guys wanna go all out, the Hotel Chelesea is awesome (historically as well).
My suggestion for Peewee is the matinee. I know this is hopeful, but perhaps they'll announce more dates in the surrounding areas for that Saturday, to which we all know we'd go.
Umm, Rachel, I read what you said to Becky about waiting up for PeeWee to call us, and I'm glad that we'll be making our pilgrimage not by walking barefoot on our springbreak. We should probably tape ourselves in a dark room singing the theme song from PeeWee's Playhouse and send it to him. Just a suggestion.

Rachel, I took your advice and had a talk with Chris today. His main concern was my safety but he's also a bit jealous of Damian! I think I need to keep the fangirl talk down to minimum while at home. He's seems okay with me making the trip now so I bought my concert ticket today.
