Franz Ferdinand in Osaka (11/27/04)

edited November -1 in General Discussion
I had fever and pains all over in the morning of the concert. I crawled to a pharmacy for some pills and went back to bed until the time to leave home. When I woke up I still felt sick and thought I would die at the venue.
It was a sold out show, the place was jammed with people, whose faces were shining with delighted expectations. I was glad that I saw tons of male fans there. You know, men are usually afraid to admit that they're fond of a band like Franz, which plays gay-ish/gender mixture songs. Well, I always go forward but that night I stood back and found a good place where I could see the stage well.
The Beat Up (a four piece band from the UK, formerly known as The Beatings, their latest album was produced by Kevin Shields from My Bloody Valentine/Primal Scream) opened for Franz. Not bad, everything sounded kinda same tho.
A hunger for Franz Ferdinand reached to the max, four men appeared on stage in silhouette. People roared and put their hands in the air. The show was started with the fascinating dance number "Michael". It threw me into a whirl of excitement. They played all of their album and a couple of new songs that sounded very cool and danceable. Actually I couldn't remember the details of the show because I was so ecstatic, there're just vivid pictures of "beautiful boys on the beautiful stage" in my head. Awww, Alex was stunningly attractive. And his lovely accent!!!! Unfortunately I didn't see my favourite Nick well from where I was standing but the sound of his guitar was so brilliant.
When I saw them first time this summer it was kinda annoying like "Yuk, they're too theatrical and narcissitic". At that time I'd never imagined that they got me so strong, I'd never known that how heavenly to be killed by Alex's eyes and his scheming poses. They're so unique and good live (I know you guys know it).
The lights turning on, I felt my head was spinning, however, I was very happy to see such an awesome concert.

p.s. Bob somehow managed to play in Osaka despite of his sickness, but he had to be absent from latter shows. When he got out of hospital he said, "Don't worry, I feel much better. The nurse on the night shift was my type". Haha, I don't know the story was true or not, I love this fellow.
