help!!

What do you guys find is the best thing to use as a base under eyeshadow to keep it from coming off during the day? Cause I've only recently started wearing a lot of eye makeup, and I had fabulous (for me) eyes today but the shadow didn't stay in place well...

suggestions? anything that helps?
