So Le Superteam has reunited...and it feels so good! We all went down to the legendary Stone Pony for some OK Go fun.
First band to go was Amusements Parks on Fire. Not very impressed. All the songs sounded the same to me and they had a lot of mic problems. It sounded like noise and mumbling.
but next was OK Go. since they were only an opening band, they had a short set but DEFINITELY a great one. All their rocking best stuff. Dont have a setlist but this is what i remember they played:
Old Album Songs: Don't Ask Me You're So Damn Hot There's A Fire Get Over It
New Album Songs: Do What You Want Invincible A Good Idea at the Time Whose House Are You Haunting No Sign of Life i dont know the title of this song but it was once the old/new song This Thing Has Started lol and i think 2 more songs
sorry, dont remember everything
anyway, besides rocking out and playing great music, the best part was yet to come...the ALL NEW DANCE. it's performed to a song off the new album which is very janet jackson-y sounding lol. something about being cool, dont know the name of it but it sounded great, very catchy. but THE NEW DANCE IS UBER-FANTASTIC, UTTERLY AMAZING.
i have video of parts of it. unfortunately my camera only records in 40 second increments otherwise i would've had the whole thing (BLAST!!!) and i had a great view too. i'll upload the videos some other time because they are 12 mb each (!)
While the Kaiser Chiefs were on stage, Le Superteam decided to harass OK Go (lol). We finally met Andy and introduced ourselves and surprisingly he's heard of us and our covers!! better than that, he said they were "brilliant"! yay! so we told him to expect more things from us soon
Kaiser Chiefs go on and we decided to chill in the bar/restaurant area and listen while we rested from heavy rocking out. I give the Kaiser Chiefs 2 thumbs waaaay up! Great sound, great stage presence...they were just fabulous!
While everyone was paying attention to the stage, we took the opportunity to harass the boys a bit more and get some pics. Since we hate boring pictures, we like to do silly poses. It makes the pictures more memorable. Here are the results.
(the pictures are a little gray because *someone* was having a little too much fun with the fog machine) *images removed*
All in all a great night. Le Superteam + OK Go = Magic Combination.
