Is this a good idea?

I reckon that the people of the ok go forum should write a song which ok go can perform at a gig or put it on one of their singles or something.

No I do not mean we all make individual songs

I mean that we should all work together to make one big great awesome song, or maybe we could get about five people with some musical experience

One of them being a collaborative that virtually everyone has contributed to and another one being this

Heaps of people make their own song and post it into a seperate topic to this one which will be called user songs and about five judges will choose which one is the best!

I will not make the seperate topic just yet, I need to have feedback on whether it is a good idea or not

Bad idea... It will result in a huge court battle as to who gets the money for the single/album that its on! With a song written by 30 or more people it will end up with someone (probably me) suing them for every penny they have. And believe me, i would do it.

We can, we don't have to play any instruments, I've made a few songs with me going boom boom boom in the background

hmm. my point is some of us....probably a lot of us play something. who would be picked? who would mix? who plays what? who would produce? and more importantly who else plays what?

If we're writing a song for Ok Go we write the words and they do the rest? if not we may as well start up our own band. We could do that, have about 30 or 40 people touring the world!

i agree w/ u there jen...
and i don't like the idea of ok go having to rely on their fans for songs... makes them seem like a bunch of hacks
if u wanna write a song and play it for them go for it but getting them to play it for us... no thank you
