ok i am very betrayed.
almost all the ppl i sit with at lunch have converted over to prep likers. last year we all hated them and wanted them to burn in hell and now they are friends with them? what the hell? there was only 3 of us at the table because the others were sitting with preps. they were gona bring them to our table. if they did i would have left.
when they come back to me i will deny them. yes thats what they did rejected me and now im rejecting them.

  • Sad as it may be, people change friends through out middle and high school. I have a whole new, and totally different I might add, group of friends now then when I did in middle school.

I hung out with ditzy cheerleaders in middle school.

I am now friends with the weird awesome kids, that are very hard to explain, like I am. I guess we think the weirdest things are awesome, and we laugh at everything.
  • oh dear girlinthedark...i could simply say, "that is sooo middle school" or "high school," but i won't. i'm sorry you feel rejected and betrayed and that you want to reject them, but i hope you will learn that you can be friends with people who seem different from you or if they seem to be in a different clique or social circle. we all have our own tastes and styles, which may or may not be similar to our friends butttt are subject to change, especially while growing up...

i've seen one of my best friends go through several extreme "phases," goth from late middle school and beyond high school (now she's a happily married Christian and punk) while i suppose i could've been considered preppy at the time...we seemed so different that i sometimes wondered why she stuck with me over the years, but i'm glad she did. anyway, i think i'm trying to tell you not to limit yourself based on "labels" and not hate people for having a different style. you might be missing out on some potentially good friends or cool acquaintances and same goes for them. they could be missing out on you and even if you don't realize it, you are special...F O WEAL!

yes. everything she said is true. Don't write people off just because of the way they dress or the music you think they listen to--don't hate until you know enough about them to have a reason to dislike them. One of my best friends is extremely preppy, while another of my friends is the opposite of preppy--she had a mohawk all last spring. We all get along really well, despite the fact that we don't fit into the same labels....

I know it's hard, but try giving people a chance--you could meet some awesome new people that way.

I feel like all this seems preachy--I do understand how frustrated you are cause it always comes as a surprise when friends change a lot and you don't think that you do.

    don't you like avril lavigne?
  • not really. i used to but i just listen to her when i have ran out of cds to listen to .
  • seriouslyyy don't judge on clothing. now if all the preppies just tend to be bitchy.. then there's a reason to hate them.

you should see my group of friends. we are not alike at ALL. they probably hate you as much as you hate them. but no one has reason to hate each other!
  • i never said i judged them on clothing. you all just assumed that.
  • well its an assumption just because the whole Prep Punk thing is associated with clothingg...
  • yea but its more of a state of mind. a personality trait. it just kinda happens that when you and some ppl are alike you kinda dress the same.
  • ooooooo, I love psychology!

we talk about group placement in schools almost everyday.
  • lol
    well
im just saying why cant the whole world be friendsss.
i wish it were that easy.
  • yea us too. this year is weird. everything is getting switched and its totally screwing up my brain.
  • what grade are you in?
  • 9th freshman.

    sometimes it feels like 4th.
  • over half of the kids in my high school act like they're 3.

    It's sad.

I may act immature sometimes, but it's out of fun. And my immaturity level doesn't stoop down to a 3-year-old's level, it's a teen's level.

I get told I'm really mature for my age, so it's good to go back to being like a teen for a while . . .

    because I am 17 . . .
  • lol i only act immature cause its fun. ya gotta live and when you live you ace immature.
  • ah well thats understandable then.
    freshman year is a bitch.
    thats like when... EVERYTHING changes.
  • ah im glad of the english school system....but these days its chavs as far as the eye can see

and they will beat the crap out of you with hockey sticks....none of this "omg goths hate preps" stuff....just flat out hocky stick beatings..
