Ann Arbor

edited November -1 in OK Go
So I went to the Ann Arbor show last night... it was pretty awesome. The Blind Pig likes to leave people standing outside waiting, which kinda sucked cause I was cold till like midnight, but it was well worth it. She Wants Revenge was pretty cool too, I liked them. Seeing the dance live from like 4 feet away rocked. I have pictures, but they kinda suck cause I took them with my phone and it's a crappy camera. I am working on setting up something that I can just link you to them and that way there are not a ton in the post.

I really wish I went now. Thanks for sharing the photos!
  • E L E V E N...happiness, SO enjoyed the show and it was like an okgo reunion to run into some cool fans i've met at other shows. i so love okgo.

Suziross, thanks for sharing your photos. Sorry that Michigan is always cold, especially whenever OK Go is in town. Actually tho, I was pretty surprised that the Blind Pig opened doors right as scheduled, 9:30pm. Also surprising was that it did NOT get super hot like it normally does for a packed OK Go show at the BP.

SHE WANTS REVENGE opened and rocked from the very first song. They sound a lot like Interpol. Luckily, there were no other opening bands, cuz it was already a late show and then there were technical problems before OK Go could start...

OK GO Setlist: Blind Pig, Ann Arbor (11.9.05):
Don't Ask Me (written as Don't Ax)
    No Sign
    Here It Goes Again
    Let It Rain
    Bye Bye Baby
    Good Idea
COVER: Prove My Love (Violent Femmes)
    Disaster
    Get Over It
    The Fix Is In
Oh Lately It's So Quiet (Oh No)
    Invincible
    You're So Damn Hot
    Do What You Want
    [DANCE: A Million Ways] biggrin.gif

I might post more details later, but that's it for now. Oh, make sure to buy stuff from the nice merchant Mike. smile.gif
  • The doors actually opened late... tickets said 9:00 which is why we got there at 8:30... but it was all worth it, and my own damn fault for being so cold since I was wearing an ass short skirt and a lightweight shirt and no coat... and Im used to the cold, I only live 45 minutes from the ohio michigan border. I really enjoyed the show.... where were you in respect to the stage?
  • I got there at about 845 cause yeah the tickets did say 9. When i saw all american rejects at st andrews they let us in like and hour late. i thought the opening band kind of sounded like depeche mode at times. 80's ish. but the show was beyond awesome. it was great. i waited a long time to see ok go and i wasnt disappointed. awesome show! although they didnt sing my cinnamon lips... sad.gif
  • On the Blind Pig's website, it said doors were at 9:30, but Mr. Mr. Jorge, Whom I Adore, Whom I Adore's e-mail said 9pm. So I called the venue early in the evening to double check and was told 9:30pm...

Anyway, I just want to add a few things. I love Tim. He's so awesome and he always remembers me. Unlike Damian, who only vaguely remembers me, but I give him credit for remembering me from a couple roadtrips I made--three years ago! Andy Rusty fits in well and is quite swell. Sadly, I didn't get a chance to catch Dan this time, but he is always so sweet...I was told OK Go will be doing a tour with Motion City Soundtrack in the near future. That is exciting news, cuz MCS is gaining a lot of popularity, at least in Michigan. I wonder if the next time OK Go comes around will be in a theatre venue with camera restrictions and filled with hundreds and hundreds of youth (and I'm not talking about in Chicago). blink.gif
  • I didn't get to talk to any of them but dan. I saw the others before the show walking down the street and the stupid girl next to me in line didn't know that was the band she was standing in the cold to see... they nodded and waved as I said hi. I hope on the next tour they can make it back to the toledo area. Ann Arbor is great but it's a long drive... Cleveland too
Regardless of distance the drive is always worth it in the end smile.gif
  • i've been to michigan.maybe ann arbor too.
  • I love Ann Arbor. It's fun. biggrin.gif
