That Booking Agent of Yours

edited November -1 in OK Go
So, I don't even know if you guys bother to read these posts, but I think you need to know this. For the past month or so I have had to deal with your booking agent at High Road. The request was simple, just to find out if you are available and interested to perform at a college in Chicago on a specific date next year.

Although I have never had a problem with other booking agents finding this information for me, **** didn't respond to e-mails and was incredibly rude on the phone. (the sort of rude that ruins your day) After calling and e-mailing for a month, I found out that he doesn't believe that you guys would be interested, even though he admittedly had not found out if the band was available on the date I was requesting.

In event planning, a month is a long time and could have been spent seeking and booking another group to perform, even though we had our hearts set on okgo.

I know from working with many groups that often the artists have no idea how well their booking agents are working for them, so I needed to let you know that he was a terrible representative for your group and his inability to work with others may reflect badly on okgo.

I am aware that with the politics of working with a label there is often nothing you can do about who your booking agent is, so I suppose this post also serves to help me get past this terrible experience.

I wish you all the best of luck and I'm sorry I wasn't able to work with you.

looks like it would be the one in chicago...
  • I was actually thinking of applying there for a while, but then I realized that it's right in the middle of a huge city (chicago), and I thought it was somewhere rural. I hear it's a pretty good school, though.

best school as far as I'm concerned! What did you want to go there for?
  • Musical Theatre, Psychology, Theology, and Philosophy. Oh, and French, but not as a major. Musical Theatre and Psychology are the only majors I'm interested in.

Mr. Mr. Jorge, Whom I Adore, Whom I Adore, you're so awesome.

I suppose since the guys always play downtown Northampton, they don't really need to play Smith College...but it would be cool to have them in our very own campus center. Then I wouldn't need to walk the whole, oh, fifteen minutes to get to Pearl Street. wink.gif
  • if the boys get droped from there record label sumhow from this...im gonna get you =p

Wow! I'm a sophomore, so I've seen them the two times they've played here in the past year. And you're the second person from the boards to be like, "Hey! I have friends at Smith!" RejectedSponge's friend sits next to me in Wind Ensemble- how crazy is that???? Who are your friends? Maybe I know them, too.
