Come on, VH1!

edited November -1 in OK Go
Didn't know whether to post this here or over in general discussion, but I figured, why not here...

So I stayed up to watch Vh1's top 40 videos of 2005, in hopes that maybe, somewhere, "A Million Ways" would be mentioned. I mean, it is the most downloaded music video ever, and they have featured it on VH1 before.

But, alas. "A Million Ways," for all its brilliancy, simplicity, and 3 million+ downloads, was apparently not big enough to make it into the top 40 of 2005. tongue.gif Not cool, VH1.

Ahh, well. I suppose 'tis to be expected...

  • VH1 is still better than MTV though. Remeber when MTV played music? I mean real music? I still like VH1. They're starting to play less music though, too. They have more reality tv shows. I swear if VH1 turns into another MTV, I'll...do something irrational.
  • I prefer VH1 Classic and Fuse. Vh1 has much much better music than MTV(if they ever do play any).VH1 is starting to play some crappy music, but its way better than MTV. VH1 is getting a lot of gossip shows though. They better not turn into E! or something. I'll always be tuning onto VH1 just because they have Best Week Ever, which have featured OK Go which makes it even more freakin' awesome. Hopefully soon, OK Go will be on the Top 20 Countdown.
  • I remember when MTV played music, real music at that too. I remember watching it with my dad when I was two. I remember watching the "Don't Come Around Here No More" video and being scared of Alice in Wonderland for a while.

Those were the good old days. What the hell happened!?!?!
  • Much Music (like MTV for the canadian kidies) would rock all of your socks... despite them insisting on playing the canadian idols...
  • haha Canadian Idol.

I don't like all the idol shows. I only watch the first few episodes of American Idol because the auditions are hilarious.
  • People keep telling me to audition for that show. But, although I have seriously considered recording, I'm also about acting and dancing too. So, if I ever did do a show like that, it would have to be Fame. That show is awesome. If I got on that show, and put it on my resume, I could get to Broadway in no time...maybe. unsure.gif

MuchMusic sucks now. They've decided to get all MTV on us, and are playing all the crappy reality shows from MTV. I'm not impressed. dry.gif
Oh, and in addition to them playing terrible shows, instead of rocking music, they've got terrible VJ's! I can stand Matte and Sarah, but Leah and Devon need to just die already. Seriously, I think Devon is the biggest douche bag ever in life. grr... Ok that was my little rant, and I think i'm done now.
  • I watched all of "Best Year Ever" (the year-end special of "Best Week Ever"), hoping that they'd be mentioned on that... but they weren't. sad.gif
  • I watched too; I was upset because they mentoned that stupid guy from NJ doing the numa numa dance and not OK Go.

Your totally right. Much Music is bringing on all of the stupid reality tv shows. But I still think its better than MTV. They need more videoflow and better vjs. Devon is the worst VJ everrr. He always tries to act inde. He interviews Jessica Simpson and kisses her ass and then I hear him saying something like "I don't like stadium shows" or crap about mainstream music.
  • Speaking of MTV, did anyone see that thing about AIDS they had on? My friend told me that Dan and Damian had an interview in there.
  • Not at all. Was this recently?

That's why I watched the top 40 videos! I mean, come on- the damn thing was downloaded over 3 million times. It doesn't matter that it's not mainstream. They mentioned that "Hollaback Girl" was the most downloaded song of 2005- what about the most downloaded video? Huh? Huh? tongue.gif

I was going to watch "Best Year Ever" to see if they were on, but I'm glad that I didn't now that I know they weren't. tongue.gif again

VH1 is better than MTV, though. I will admit that.

I think it was on the 1st because that was world aids day. Oh and I think it was Tim not Dan.
  • Yay I found one the videos with Damian and Tim.

click on the first video. Then when the Overdrive thing loads, watch the last two videos and Damian and Tim are in there.

"That's true!" "Wear a condom! Don't get sick!" Hee hee hee hee. It's awesome that they did something like this, even if they were in the vids for all of, oh, two seconds. (And they looked fabulous.)

    Als0- buffering sucks.

Also also - 2:04 left in the last vid ("More Myths Revealed")- does not that boy in the green shirt look like a 14-year-old version of Damian???
