So I had this brilliant idea
ages ago for a tee-shirt to wear to an OK Go concert, and I finally got around to making it for tomorrow night.
Here is the shirt (on my floor...):
(I don't know why they're coming out so pixelated...)
For those who don't already know the joke, go read
this. The shirt kind of came out okay; it's not exactly like I imagined it for a few reasons:
1) The shirt I got is a bit too sheer; I should have gone with one of the American Apparel Classic Girl tees, they're more sturdy
2) I messed up the "E" in "use" by gluing it upside down! Oops! So I had to peel off part of it and replace the rest with an "F" because the letter set didn't come with three "E"s.
3)I kind of started burning some of the letters in "use" as I was ironing on "use." You really can't see it in the pics, but some of the letters are a little yellowed.
4) You also can't tell from the pics, but the two words are a little off-center.
5) The red paint marker was difficult to draw with, and my lines didn't come out as planned. I should have just drawn one line across.
Anyway. So that's my criticism about my own work...lemme' know what you think...

Let us know what Damian says.
Hahahaha. It's not hard. I used those iron-on letters that I got from JoAnn's Fabrics and a paint marker (though squeeze fabric paint might have been easier).
I have a LOT of other OK Go-related/Damian-inspired tee-shirt ideas, too. When I thought they were going to be touring with MCS the week of 3/18 and I was planning to go on my groupie road trip, I was going to make a new tee-shirt for each show.

I've made tee shirts like that before, but never to contribute to a greater cause like an Ok Go Army of Grammatical Arguments. And as for making a tee shirt for every show...DO IT!
and going on groupie road trips to see them play...

Would you be willing to start an army with me?

tell me more about your army. are you talking a new shirt for each show? roadtrips? (um, this one could be a problem, as I don't have a car, and the next Chicago show currently doesn't exist.)
Any ideas?
I'm thinking so far:
OK Go is for lovers
Or Lake OKGObegon
(Gol I love A Prairie Home Companion)...lucky us, lucky Minnesotans!

I don't get it.
Neighborhoodies makes t-shirts for you (because I am craft-ily inept). And on a Prairie Home Companion (it's a radio show on NPR), it's "set" on a small community called Lake Wobagon in Minnesota.
It was the title of one of their emails and I enjoyed it immensely.
Props to the 'sota!

I want to make one that says "I may not be able to juggle, but at least I have great taste in music!" on the front, and "The OK Go Juggling Club" on the back.
I would, but they're not playing those four dates anymore!

No, I don't get the slogans.
And OK Go sounds like WO
So Wobegon - Wo + OK GO = OK GObegon.
Damn. I thought it was clever.
I thought it was real lake when you posted about it before...sans the OK Go part...
So the concert last night was AWESOME (I was in the front row!!!), and.....
Damian LOVED my shirt!!!!
He was standing out in the hallway leading out of the rock club, and there were a lot of people crowded around (total fire hazard, really), so I kind of just stood around and waited my turn, and then there was this awkward moment between me and these other two girls over, "Uhhh...who talks to him first...?" so I basically just took the lead, and said, "Okay, tee-shirt!" or something like that.
And Damian took one look at the tee-shirt and basically squeed all over the place. He started jumping up and down, yelling, "YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!!" It was GREAT. So then I gave him a big hug.
I got one picture of him and me, where we're both pointing at my chest (you can't really read the tee-shirt, but oh well), and another where he was "crossing" out use with his Sharpie, so I'm basically making a face like ! and he's standing behind me and like drawing his pen across my chest(!).
(My roommate took one look at the two pics and said, "You know, between him pelvising you last time and 'drawing' on your boobs this time, it seems like he totally wants to molest you or something." To which my response is "molest away." )
So it was really cool. Lots of people taking pics of me and Damian, I felt so special. I kept the tee-shirt, though, but now that I think about it, maybe I should have given it to him. Oh, well.
I'll post pics as soon as I get back to my computer at school.
