Last FM

edited November -1 in OK Go
I was searching on Last.fm and there's two songs that I've never heard of by Damian Kulash and Damian Jr. Kulash titled A Party, Please (The Loop) and Deal of the Century.

Does anyone know anything about them (and I can't find their fans to contact them about it)?

  • Hmmmm, that's odd. I mean, it's possible that it's two recordings by him from early on that we don't know about. And every time I play an OK Go song on Windows Media, it lists the songwriter as "Damian Jr. Kulash," so I mean, they could be legit. I don' t know how likely that is, though.
  • They could just be songs he recorded by himself that someone he gave the songs to listened to... which means they're probably unreleased and we will probably never get a hold of.
  • Gaarrr

I'd like to know. Or it could be a ploy to get our our britches in a stich and debate about the legitimacy of thie said recordings.

Which I'm all for, by the way.
  • Deal of the Century - maybe a vocal recording of his political attack on Dubya? I know that effullmee from Rusty's CD has a nice track of Dubya...

And the other...a Party, (Please) --- I have no idea.

Speaking of SDR and "Effullme," I was listening to "Math Is Power," which is the track right after "Effullme" (or however that's spelled, I don't feel like looking), and I realised how much of a social commentary and very smart it is, and how PERFECT it is to listen to post-State of the Union address. Seriously. Like, everything Andy talks/sings about in that song relates to last nights address.

It just makes me love him so much. And then I remember that he's a Mass. boy, and then I love him even more.

REALLY? I'm gonna listen to it nownownow.

Do you have a copy of the lyrics?
  • "Well, it's their great show
    And I don't know
    Whether I should believe it
    [Is paying what to buy,]
Or just that they're just bringing the facts
    And while the TV screen
    Selects impossible dreams
Of happiness, and we believe it
At least it's better than knowing what's really going on today
(Spoken voice: Learn math: algebra, trigonometry, calculus. Because math is power.)
You didn't hear what we did?
We let 'em starve all those kids
But now we're stormin' into save 'em
The kids, the kids, the kids, the kids, the kids, the kids, the kids
    So when we're hit again
    And you don't understand
    Why the hatred is [spreadin']
You should put another American flag on the bumper of your Escalade
(Spoken voice: [One thing] to Jose: the Columbus Shuttle. George says another: The weather is warmer in Tampa. Blah blah blah, yada yada yada.)"

This is what I got from listening to it. Anything I'm not sure on is in brackets.

But, yeah. It's perfect, especially after his rant on how we need to train 70,000 AP Calc. teachers and get more kids in math and science.

    Hahahahahhaha.

I love it, because I know exactly what you mean.

I'll totally forget he's from Worcester, and then something will remind me of it, and I'll be like... O yah! That's why he's my favorite!
