Isaac Hayes, who has voiced “Chef” on Comedy Central’s “South Park” since 1997, announced his departure from the show Monday.
The outspoken Scientologist cited the satirical show’s take on religion for his decision to quit.
“There is a place in this world for satire, but there is a time when satire ends and intolerance and bigotry towards religious beliefs of others begins,” Hayes said.
“Religious beliefs are sacred to people, and at all times should be respected and honored,” he continued. “As a civil rights activist of the past 40 years, I cannot support a show that disrespects those beliefs and practices.”
“South Park” co-creator Matt Stone fired back at Hayes, accusing the soul singer of reacting negatively purely to the show’s attacks against Scientology.
“This is 100 percent having to do with his faith of Scientology… He has no problem - and he’s cashed plenty of checks - with our show making fun of Christians,” Stone said.
“He wants a different standard for religions other than his own, and to me, that is where intolerance and bigotry begin.”

I do tend to agree that he's probably just upset about the Scientology episode, which gets me mad because it means that he's fine with making fun of other's people religions, but not his own.
Also, pepole should be able to make fun of their own relgions. I know a kid who constantly makes fun of his beign Jewish, and that's cool. If I made fun of his beign Jewish, that would be totally different and not cool, but I don't.
I do call my church the hippies of today, though. because we are, and it's awesome.
Anyways, it's hard not to make fun of scientology. I mean, really. what else do they expect?
I don't watch south park either, so other than what I've said, it really doesn't affect me.
ive looked this up before so i found the definiton quite easily.
international movement that emerged in the 1950s in response to the thought of Lafayette Ronald Hubbard, a writer who introduced his ideas to the general public in Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health (1950). Hubbard's stated goal was to analyze humankind's mental aberrations and to offer a means for overcoming them. He eventually moved away from Dianetics' focus on the mind to a more religious approach to the human condition, which he called Scientology. The Church of Scientology was founded in 1954.
