car crashes suckI have friends who knew these kids. This has been a sucky year for our little part of the world- 4 former graduates of my high school were murdered in Dorchester, and also there was a double murder a week ago monday at a cement truck company (random!)
However, my question is, what do you think about the driving laws in your state? The kid shouldn't have had his friends in the car w/ him, but no one enforces that rule. no one takes it seriously. Now they're thinking of making the restrictions tougher, and I get my permit in a month. I don't really want to have to do more stuff for my license, but at the same time this shouldn't happen again. There was no drugs or alcohol involved
as far as anyone knows, but knowing the circumstances, alcohol was pretty likely, although no ones said anything about it yet, I wouldn't be surprised.
so do you think they should tighten restrictions or keep them the same or (maybe) loosen them? how tough are the restrictions wherever you are/ got your license?

Way to go legislation.
except that they forced everyone to leave school grounds, and most of hte kids at the dance were also drunk as hell. which meant you had teenagers driving around town drunk as hell and not wanting t go home right away. We figured someone would die, but luckily nothing happened.
still, not smart on the part of the teachers and stuff.
it was a sucky dance, anyways.
back on topic, now Mass. legislators want to raise the license age limit to 17 and a half. I get my permit in a month, they want the law passed before july 1st, and there should be a ninety day period befopre it goes into effect.
which means that, if I get my licens the day I'm elligible, I'll have it at 16 and a half. If I wait a day more, I'd have to wait another year to get my license.
it's screwed up.
i passed first time on that
2nd time on the test
But I never followed any of those rules. It wasn't because I was out partying like a nutter; it was usually giving my friends rides home after we'd hung out late at night.
Same here, but only once you've gotten your full licence.

That sucks. Texas isn't like that at all, or at least it wasn't when I got mine. You get your permit when you're 15, then you take driver's school classes and then you have to drive with an adult for a certain amount of hours. When you're 16 you get your license and it has to be renewed every year until you're 18, after that you renew every 5 years. I think kids have a cerfew now, but I never had one. You also don't have to take a driving test, just the written.
You don't have to take the driving test? Whaaa....? From what I've heard about driving in Texas (especially around the cities), it's insane...maybe that's why.
I failed my first driving test, because I backed up over the curb when I was parallel parking. Haha, go me!
What? Woah it isnt like that in az. I got my permit and 15 and 7 months then after i think 25 hours of driving in the day and 5 hours at night you can get your liscense at 16. And I dont think i have to get my liscense renewed till im 21. I dont know all the rulse but i think thats how it goes here. And i failed my drivers test the first time because i couldnt 3 point turn. I ran over a cone or two. Lol

We have to have a certain amount of hours in order to get our license, though. I think it's some insane number like 60 (30 of observation and 30 of actual driving). Actually, Texas drivers are pretty good, and I've driven through a bunch of states. New Jersians are the worst drivers in the world, Katy! I know because I've been there and my mom is from New York. Floridians are also really bad, all those blue-hairs.
No, New Yorkers are the worst drivers in the world. They all come to Jersey and drive badly, that's the problem.
'Tis not the "armpit of the world." There's a lot of places worse than the NJ Turnpike. Like......
...okay, I'll think of something and get back to you on it.

Well, when you think of something worse, just remember there are 2 armpits....
Oh, shush.
If by armpit you mean hot sweaty smelly and hairy you can safely call one of those pits Glendale.
Glendale is pretty! As is most of LA, you just have to know where to go!
