Woot for you!
Have you heard of Pandora.com? It's basically this website where you tell them the name of one of your favourite artists/bands/songs, and they create a "radio station" for you based on the musical style of that artist/band/song. I've got an OK Go, Franz Ferdinand, and Death Cab station so far, and I've pretty much liked almost everything that they've played for me. (And if you don't like it, you just click "I don't like this!," and the site's like, "OOPS! SORRY! WE WON'T DO IT AGAIN, WE PROMISE! ") The only thing is once they've played a song on the station, you can go back to it on the list but you can't replay it. But with MySpace, it's really easy to find the bands they play for you.

Anyway. I thought it was nifty.
I have never heard of this site but it sounds wonderful. It sounds like Yahoo's music engine. You first choose your 4 favorite artists and then check the genres and bands they have on this big list. Then they'll make a station for you and you rate the songs so it gets an even better idea of what you like. I loved it so much that I got a paid subscription for $5 a month. That price includes access to a HUGE library of music, no commercials, cd quality sound, and lots of really good recommendations. The only draw back is that if you want to burn any of the songs in the library or transfer them to your pod, it's $.87 a song. Hmm, I'll have to try Pandora.
haha, Demetri Martin is so awesome. I was so excited when he joined "The Daily Show." I've got his Trendspotting segments on my ipod, haha. Not that I'm, you know, obsessed or anything..
