Speaking of why OK Go is the best band ever...

Have y'all read this interview? So far I've only seen the link posted at the JC, and it's a really great interview.

I have to give props to the interviewer- 3/4 of those questions were things that I would have asked Damian if I were interviewing him.

I loved this answer:

It bothers me only because I am nostalgic for the old ways, I wish people did listen to records more, I wish that the art-form still had that kind of place in the world. But Rock and roll is turning into niche music. It's turning into something for people who go chase it down and find it. Rock stations are dying all of the country...Rock and roll doesn't have the presence it used to and as a person making it, you got to understand what you're getting into. It's something I love and I do listens to records from beginning to end. Unfortunately it's something I don't always have the time for.

It's so weird, because the other day I was thinking, Wow, every record I bought before the start of last semester I know inside and out, in order. And now that I've been downloading stuff more or buying stuff and then immediately putting it on my computer, I really don't. I know individual songs, but not the record as a whole. Digital music is really convenient, but you lose something when you don't physically have the CD or vinyl in your hand. I think that's why listening to all of my parent's old Beatles records over spring break was so mind-blowing- it was the first time I'd listened to Let It Be, beginning to end, and on a turntable, no less.

Anyway. The more I read about Damian's opinions, the more I love him.
