Something about them having control of whatever you post on there....songs, pictures...I read it very briefly.
  • I think it's what Billy Bragg is protesting, how they gain partial ownership of music on band's profiles and can sometimes sell it if they want, like for commercials.

    What?! That's insane. mad.gif
  • This was the original article I read:

And then I guess they resolved some stuff, this is from a couple weeks later:

  • Wow, that's awesome.

If only Spin hadn't decided to put Beyonce on their front cover, I'd still have respect for them....nothing against Beyonce, mind you....but not on the cover of Spin....

I think Spin has been getting rather poopy of late (excluding, of course, the OK Go plugs and a few sparce articles).

Which makes me really sad, because the first time I picked up that mag was for their 20th anniversary issues last fall, and they basically changed my life.

I know. I have wonderful memories of sitting in the back of the library when I should have been shelving, reading [i]Spin[//i] wedged between the 800s and a book cart. I loved that magazine so much.
  • haha, someone beat me to it. well, no surprise as I was away for five days. anyways, I thoguht Damian's college story was hysterical. I mean, why even bother to do all that just for a freshman facebook? i dunno, but I still loved it. specially since it made me imagine damian on steroids and thats just wrong in a hysterical-sort-of-way.

and I agree that spin has gone downhill recently. very sad, but some of the articles themselves are still worthwhile.
  • The first time I read the freshman facebook thing, I thought, "Wait, Damian really DOES have a Facebook page????" The I realized that I was wrong...but someone making a fake one and me being friends with it is just as fun...

I wonder what Damian was like in school. Was he like that arrogant nerd that everyone hated? Or was he the heart throb that everyone loved? After finding out he was in AP BC Calculus, I tend to think it was the former...

The Freshman Facebook is like the freshman year book, you dork. The Facebook didn't exist when he went to school. tongue.gif

I've probably already mentioned it on here, but Hooked On A Feeling is my favourite masterpiece of his.
