JcPenny Commercial

You know how I had showed this picture...well it was for a JcPenny ad and now OK Go not only has DWYW in the commercial, but pictures and clips of the video. I was gonna try to record it but it went by too fast. Next time I’ll defiantly get it.

    DUDE i just saw this and like got the weirdest chills
    because its like DWYW playing. And I'm uber confused. And then OK Go on the screen.
    That was weird.

    My friend saw the magazine ad while we were on the plane going to Florida, shovd the magazine in my face, and screamed, "AMY, YOU LISTEN TO THEM!"

    I remember just hearing the music and yelling my brother to put it back on the channel but he said it was just a commerical so I thought it was for a movie or something..but then I saw it again and I started screaming..I ran for the VCR but it was too late.

    I just saw it during one of the commercial breaks during Treasure Hunters (nbc's crappy/def-not-as-good-as Amazing Race-ish show). I was talking to my sister, and then as i was responding i heard DWYW in the background, and i paused as i tried to place the song. i was thinking to myself...wait a second, that sounds familiar...i KNOW that...hmm...and of course, my sister was like "WHOAAAA it's OK GO!!!" Haha, she's a fan, but def. not to the level of obsession that i am. Yeah...she rubbed it in my face for the next 15mins or so that she recognized them first.

    Anyway, I saw two commercials. One has clips from the DWYW music video, and the other one just has the music (and possibly a poster in the background? i'm not sure...i could be blending the two together). Afterwards i realized it makes sense that it was a commercial for JCPenney...esp. considering the fact that OK Go is playing acoustic sets in malls w/ JCPenney...Yeah...i'm a genius. smile.gif

    Anyway, i just thought it was pretty cool. Glad other people saw it too. biggrin.gif

    So cool how the song is playing in the background! You can watch the commerical too somewhere on that site. Damn, the evil JC Penny is turning us all into robot advertising machines. Bleh!

    (Well, my baby Monkees used to advertise for JC Penny and now Ok Go is). The bad part is now people are going to think Ok Go gets their awesome clothes from JC Penney. Double Bleh.

    i saw it too. what better way to represent ok go than a bunch of prepubescent kids jumping on their beds? oh well. as long as they keep it realll, it's fine with me.

    hahaha too true. But I shop at JCP and I'm not that young.

    Those kids on the opening screen freak me out quite a bit.

    We do have a special "avatars and signatures" thread, you know, you could've asked there and not posted your question randomly....unless you're a spammer, which I suspect you might be, in which case you really wouldn't care...

    hey, be generous. maybe:
    a) its her first time on a forum and doesn't realize that we generally like to stay on topic unless its a fun diversion and we're involved, or
    cool.gif she wants to make/post an avatar/picture of the JC penney commercial and show it to the world, in which case this would be a related question in her mind, even if she forgot to explain it to hte rest of us.

    however, if it is spam, then I agree with you. spam=badness and so on and so forth. (ya know, I'm not very good at being mean...)

    Yes, I totally do.

    Apparently the guys have been working on this JCPenny thing since last summer and it's only now coming out. It's kind of weird. This also gives me hope that maybe another thing that they were working on at the exact same time will come out soon. **crosses fingers**

    Well, normally I wouldn't care, but she's posted it in two different threads...and I feel like it might be spam....but that's just me....
