  • shes a chav! my wife likes her... i hope she doesnt become a chav.
  • What is wrong with Amanda Palmer? I think she's tres cool . . . she has good music . . .

    Andy . . . Lily Allen? Come on now . . .

Are you refering to Amy Winehouse?

And John Lennon isn't alive, so he can't be on the list. But if we could include non-living beings, he would definitely be in my top five.

    1. Jack White biggrin.gif
    2. Rufus Wainwright
    3. Luke Steele (The Sleepy Jackson)
    4. Juanita Stein (Howling Bells *whispers* my girl crush!)
    5. Justin Timberlake (Watch his guest appearance on SNL. If nothing else, that cemented my love for him. Yes I'll even forgive SexyBack for that)

Coolest people in music? Well, apart from the OK Go boys...

    - Jeff Mangum from Neutral Milk Hotel
    - Rufus Wainwright
    - Andrew Bird

    ...and the ladies:

    - Erin McKeown
    - Jolie Holland
    - Kristin Hersh

Uncoolest man in rock: Conor Oberst. He ripped off Neutral Milk Hotel. Plagiarism isn't cool.
Uncoolest woman in rock: Amanda Palmer. Speaking as a proud Boston resident...yeah.

You have stellar taste in human beings.

    5. Karen O. (I still believe she is cooler than cool. Nothing has changed.)

One of my friends is in love with her and got into a Yeah Yeah Yeahs free show. Apparently it was quite the shindig.

Completely. I've been listening to In the Aeroplane Over the Sea for the past few weeks nonstop. it's the kind of record that gets stuck in your head in the way that it's everywhere. I sing it to myself and out loud and in the car and on walks. It's absolutely beautiful.

I'm pretty sure my list has stayed the same:
    -John and john
    -Kimya Dawson
    -Jeff Mangum
-Nick and Paul of The Books (both are also super-sweet as well as incredible musicians)
    -Jack and Meg White
    -Philip Glass
    -Yann Tiersen
    -John Darnielle
    -Paul Simon
-Oh and Eugene Hutz for being such a bad-ass

And, because I can't just stick to people who are alive:
    -Janis Joplin
    -Freddie Mercury
    -John Lennon
    -Otis Redding
    -Joe Strummer
  • I know the first post said no dead people, but I can't help it:
    1) Freddie Mercury. Teh coolness. (ooh, Tonetoil, I just noticed that you listed him too! smile.gif )
    2) Roger Taylor, the drummer from Queen. Especially when he's chewing gum- he's the ultimate suave guy.
    3) Frankie Sullivan from Survivor (Eye of the Tiger). Very hot and extremely cool when he was young.
    4) Matt Bellamy from Muse. Even the way he walks is cool.
  • WELL, if we're doing dead folks now . . .

The only time I'll probably make an order of things . . .

    1. John Lennon
    2. Elliott Smith
    3. Keith Moon
    4. Freddie Mercury
    5. Tie between Jim Morrison and Janis Joplin . . . though it should probably go to Janis Joplin 'cause Morrison was kind of a slob . . . but I love him madly . . .
