that would be really really funny. and awkward, methinks. I barely know anyhting about P!ATD except their names and three of their songs, but hey. whatever. they toured w/ Ok GO, that makes 'em cool in my book.

(oo, plus they are touring w/ Bloc Party, so I hear. I <3 Bloc Party to the max.)

i have never heard of bloc party and that's who is going on tour with panic or ok go?
  • They're going to tour with Panic. And that's not going over well with their fans.

I heard Jacks Mannequin are too and their fans aren't too happy either.
  • I don't know why, they sound exactly the same.

All I know about P!ATD is that the lead singer got knocked out recently and they still finished their show, and for that they have my respect happy.gif

i don't remember brendon recalling a 'knock out' but hey, he could of.

    haha, yeah I'd bet.

    Bloc Party is uber-indie.
their fans are even more uber-indie, and I get the feeling they wouldn't want to even be seen within ten miles of a P!ATD venue, just due to their popularity and nothing else.

ah well. I might want to go, I could get my cousins to come w/ me.

oh, and the other thing I recently learned about P!ATD is that they are, in fact, named after The Smiths' song. which also makes them cool in my book. cause I like that song muchos.
  • He got hit with a bottle and fell over.

honestly, i don't care who goes on tour with panic! i mean they should give the band a chance. so the fans are supposedly pissed cos they are on tour with them???

oh, that wasn't brendon. that was ryan. he got hit in the head with a water bottle a phili concert and had to get stitches or at least that's what jon told us.
  • Yeah, Panic is really looked down upon by people and most bands in that community.

and was knocked out. Supposedly for several minutes from what I heard. IDK the video's on youtube, that's all I know. I could be mistaken about who it was.

ok....i'm not going to say anything. lol.
i dont' like how people treat panic! and how they treat them with disrespect.
that's me. i'm just a fan though. the close to panic! i have gotten is by knowing 2 of the guys ex's.

I know how you feel re: fan disrespect (I'm a Hanson fan), but it's best to just ignore it. smile.gif

nah, it was at the Reading Festival in England.
there's vids of it on Youtube. believe me. it's ugly.

and, yeah. stupid indie kids think they're too cool to be into a popular band. it's a disease well-known to me as a former Interpol Boardie.

In my experience, if you take the time to learn about a band, no matter what your thoughts beforehand, you'll generally find out that the band is cool enough that you shouldn't worry about how popular they are.
And if they aren't, then they'll probably disappear off the music scene in a short while.

i do agree i mean its weird though...i don't really understand why people are dissing panic...could be because of kicking out brent.

    i agree.
plus, some other panic! fans don't like me cos i talk to their ex's still.
they are really unique & sweet girls.
  • I know some people who just don't like their music, but mostly it's because they're uber-popular.

If a band is unknown, then its okay for people to like them. But if a band is popular, then they've either "sold out" or you supposedly never liked 'em to begin with.

    It's all very sickening, really.
  • Most people I know hate them because of their song titles and the whole FOB association.

i know...i mean i didn't know really who panic! was until they got pretty big but sooner or later i knew this was going to become a huge disaster but i trust some of the fans i've met out there...they are the true fans.

definition for a TRUE fan - a fan that likes the band/artists for their music NOT their looks.

ha, I can see that happening to Hanson.

just because they broke up w/ their gfs doens't mean the girls are a bane to society, lmao. It doesn't even mean that the break-up was ugly or anything.

I don't think I'd ever become a Panic! boardie, just because they have too many fans, and I think that too many of their fans can probably get really snarky about some stuff.

they do sound a lot like FOB but honestly Pete was the one that signed Panic! to Decaydance Records. it was all in Pete's hands and really ryan wrote all the songs and titles so i don't know but ryan's always been like that.

i just don't like how people compare them to other artist they are totally different than FOB in their own unique way.
