OK Go at UCSD!
AWESOME show!!
I really need to study for ochem and history, but I wanted to write some stuff down so I can remember later.
I didn't really listen to the first two openers (two local bands: The Good Cheer and...Lady Dottie and something something diamond)...
Highlights:
-HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE XMAS!!! (someone shouted "jingle bells" right before the guys started the acoustic set and it threw off damian and he was like "ok what the hell...we're gonna be playing a christmas show on tv soon so we'll play 'a pussy little christmas song for you guys'"
)
-RETURN!!!!! (sooooo powerful live. his introduction was sad "i wrote this song for a college friend who died on her 22nd bday"
it's so awesome to see it live though. i don't remember who said it....but I completely agree that this song really is just pure raw emotion)
-Shoot...don't remember what song it was during, but during one of the songs Damian started saying "It's getting hot in here" (with the crowd responding "SO TAKE OFF ALL YOUR CLOTHES") and after this went on for like five times he was like...."ohh, well now i feel like an asshole for not coming through...but my broach has already been unhooked for 2songs....Andy, take off something. i feel bad" (Andy reaches down and takes off his shoe, pretends like he's going to throw it into the audience and then just tosses it behind him. He then took off the other shoe and played in his socks for a few songs (maybe even until right before the dance))
-Damian talking about the Waffle Spot and how it renames itself the "Amigo Spot" for lunch.
-Tabitha (?) giving Damian a note (one side was the note and the other was a crayon drawing of the old blocky logo) super cute.

No, we thought that it was a little too much for this show and decided to keep it for another time.
After the show, I got to meet Tim again, but only briefly. We asked if he has watched our video yet, but he hadn't yet. Actually, his response was, "Oh shit! No I haven't, sorry" or something along those lines.
Then, Angela and I had a very lovely conversation with Damian. It lasted a good 15 minutes. We discussed our tie tieing abilities. He felt our ties, and examined them very closely, by grabbing at them and felt the knots. He complimented my broach, which is really nice, by the way. I asked what knot they use, a windsor, we talked about the word "u.tilize" in which he doesn't really hate, he just hates when people use it to sound "pomp", like, "I u.tilize the train system" He briefly mentioned how the San Diego show sucked. Oh, and how it's perfectly okay to use the word google as a verb.
Then we got pictures, agian. This time we asked for a pose. When it came to my pose, and he was asking me what I wanted, my face was a mere inch away from his face, his breath smelled like wine, which is what is in those mysterious cups, and this is roughly how the conversation went:
Him: How do you want me to pose?
Me: However you want, it's your photo
Him: No, it's YOUR photo, I've done this thousands of times!
Me: Okay, but if I told you what to do, it wouldn't be as fun
Thankfully, right before we left Angela asked for a hug, because we aren't sure when we'd see them again, or if we would have an opportunity to hug them again. And right before I hugged him, which was a really tight delicious hug, I mentioned that we were going to be at their show on the third. He said he would see us there.
oh, yeah he said he saw our video and, oh! We talked about Mr. Ok go logo. The Pamona show was the only one that got to see him, and that it isn't Dan or Trish.

Why yes they are! I'll have more pictures up when I get home, it wont be for a while though since I have to be at work in an hour and god only knows when I get out of there.

I would have been the same way, but the things we had to do to get inside, it was pretty much all or nothing. I didn't really care at that point.

Thank you! We were so lucky, it was so much fun. I hope everyone gets a chance to do that because it was pretty wild.
That was an amazing story. I wish I could have gone down there because my friend's girlfriend goes there and she would have let me use her ID. Nida is a lucky girl because I would have died if I saw Tim in a Jamba Juice. I love Tim and Jamba Juice. I saw Dan in a Walgreens once, but that was when I was really shy and I had only seen the guys once before, so I didn't go up to him.
But yeah, it sounded like a lot of fun. I miss them. Only 88 days until I get to see them again.
