Weird version of What To Do

edited November -1 in OK Go
I once downloaded (naughty me) What To Do, and it had a brass/horn section on it. I thought, naively, it was the standard version.

Having since bought the first album, it's a lot slower and rockier on "OK GO"; I was wondering, is it a B-side that I've heard? Or one of those fabled tracks that allmusic say was on the first version of "OK GO" that got binned as it was too weird?

Or am I just slowly losing my mind... you decide!

  • Hmmm, it sounds like the one that's in the black and white video. It was on Youtube for awhile, and it may be still, but I think it's on the DVD (correct me if I'm wrong, caffeine hasn't kicked in yet).
  • It was an alternate version they used for the What To Do video.
  • it's an early version, it's on either the brown or the pink ep. (i think it's the pink, but i can't remember for sure).
  • <3 the trumpet/bone version of What to Do. tis my absolute favorite.

oh, and I may be wrong about this... but I've always thought it sounded as though the recorded version (EP version, mayhaps? I dunno) uses a trumpet, even though the video definitely uses a trombone...

    either way, tis awesome.

No, the EP version, the album version, and the video version are all different.
