Has anyone ever figured out Track 14?

Anyone know what Track 14 is all about? Did a search here and found a couple of threads speculating, but no definite explanation. Is it really Damian's (presumably ex-) girlfriend sleeping? If so - why?

It's his wife sleeping, it was recorded when she was still his girlfriend. Some people have found out the answer and are pretty much sworn to secrecy, but the guys refuse to talk about it because it's "operating" in a way that would stop if everyone knew.

I think it is his girlfriend sleeping. And their dog. I don't know what it's supposed to mean though. If it means anything. Why does everything have to mean something? Why can't it just be a cool idea? After all, you're in a band to make cool stuff, right?

Well that's true, but it's not really very cool. It's extremely boring, actually, unless I suppose if you know what it means. I kinda think putting ultra-secret things on an album is annoying and somewhat rude to the fans who paid for it.

That's exactly how I feel about it. I mean, it isn't even exciting when you know the reason, and it just confuses everyone. Especially casual fans who haven't read anything about it and were expecting an extra track.

And in the first like 10 minutes of the track you really expect some music to begin and when you finnally realise that there will be no music is just a huge disapointment. Well at least it has created some especulation and excitement...

I don't suppose this could have anything to do with 13 being an unlucky number, could it? Adding an extra track so there are 14, rather than 13?

Doesn't really matter, I guess. Although it's a bit annoying ripping a CD to PC and finding an empty track taking up 68 MB of hard disc space. Easy enough to delete, though.

Yarr, quite a few actually. But then when those people say they know about it, other's will prod them for answers after informed people have been sworn to secrecy about it and can't say anything and then there's a bunch of resentment and anger floating around the boards.

Basically, the situation is as touchy as the "Return" and any of the boy's gf/wives topics.

they better not do that on a future album

and why are they touring with the fray? they need to just tour on their own so they can play smaller venues and shit and the fray.. geod i cant stand them anymore cuz of the freakin radio - and to think that i dont even listen to the radio that often but everytime i turn it on the fray is trying to save lives.

Sorry, didn't mean to start an argument or stir up old resentments. I was just curious because I've never seen anything like this before on a CD. I can't say I think it was a particularly smart thing to do though. No, not smart at all, basically saying to your fans, "Hey look at this weird thing we did to confuse you, and no we're not going to ever tell you why."
