ah, this hurts, because one thing Damian says many times in a lot of interviews is that he hopes that Ok Go isn't a 1-time hit kind of thing. I remember him even saying how much he hoped ppl would be listening to Ok Go 5 years from now. Ugh, this write-up is so hurtful.
Yay! Maybe I'll run into you, but probably not as there will be lots of people there. Oh, and there is the fact that I don't know you.
lol. Very true, but if you see a tall asian girl with glasses and a gold paisley tie that's me! (I'm Natalie, btw.) Actually, you can see me and (part of) my tie here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYcxwWjGk_4. And plus, I'm supposedly promoting OK Go on behalf of the Capitol Records Street Team, so if you (or anyone for that matter) want some cool OK Go goodies, look for me!
oknat, I'll definitely look for you, I would love some OK Go goodies! 0_o If you happen to see a girl wearing blue glasses, red pants, and a black shirt at the concert, it'll probably be me.

After watching the CD USA performance that OK Go did on NYE (thanks so much to sherib for the download!), I was going to start a fun little thread called "Damian's Lick" but what I really have to say would go better here.
During that performance, when they are playing "I just want to thank you," Damian casually throws off this lick that most guitarists would give their eyeteeth to play and most axe-gods on stage would accompany with a painful grimace to call attention to it. Damian just wove it into the song like a thread of gossamer gold - so you'd hear it's shimmer - but if you weren't paying attention, you'd miss it on a conscious level, even as it sang through your veins. A one-hit wonder couldn't do that; wouldn't have the sensitivity or discipline to pull that off.
A one-hit wonder writes (or has written for them) a song with a hook, clever but trite lyrics, and a walking bass line that sounds cool the first time you hear it; but after two weeks, you want to shoot your radio (figuratively, of course). Or a one-hit wonder is a thief whose one success is something they didn't create but were clever/powerful enough to lift from someone else.
OK Go, now their music has staying power. I'm not tired of "Invincible" yet, nor HIGA, and by all rights I should be. And we all know that OK Go creates their own music -- oftentimes with great (and real) stories behind them (Damian's cat?!).
Look at all the talent and creativity and discipline on that stage. Look at all that joy. They will succeed in spite of their critics, in spite of their own fears, in spite of the neat little box the industry would like them to stay inside. OK Go is the real deal.

Natalie, I want some cool OK Go goodies!!!! I will definately be looking for you and KristaMichelle. Btw, I'm Mia. I don't know what I'll be wearing yet (but definately blue jeans and a blue cordoroy blazer), but I am a short Asian girl, no glasses though as opposed to your tallness with glasses . I'll probably make an "I Love OK Go" sign.
Do you guys know where to look for the guys after the show?? If anyone knows, can you point me in the right direction? I want to give Andy his early birthday gift

Haha, I'll definitely look for the sign then since I'll probably give stuff to anyone who loves OK Go (even though I think the point of it is to let other people know about the band ). Is it going to be like that one sign that Dan was holding on the Jimmy Kimmel Live Show back in December?!
As for looking for the guys after (or before) the show, I'm wondering about that too. I have some little gifts for all of them. Plus I'm dying to meet them!!

Yes! I loved that sign. But I'm thinking about making it a bit more fanciful. Or come to think of it, maybe I'll re-create it.... I'll have to ponder that thought.

I wanted to make sure that I would see him to I could give him a present, so I e-mailed Milosh. He's going to make it happen! and he said that he told Andy to expect a gift from me and Andy is quote "overjoyed"

I'll be there to support the boys too! They will definitely prove this reporter wrong.
TOO TRUE!

Pshaw to that reporter. He doesn't know what he's talking about.
