WOW! Now you my sand puppet, know how to tell a story... that was really amazing dahlin', you are so lucky you got to meet Davy!!! I'm so glad you got to have a great time... and you talked to him eeeeeh, you are officially the coolest person ever!!!!
*bump* Because I'm currently a little obsessed and I don't want to keep taking up the Happy Thread with it.
Eeeeee I watched Head today (I'm trying to get my little sister into the boys) for the first time in years.. I love that movie! Mike is simply the coolest person alive:
Mike: We need more AMO Peter: I'll go get it! Mike: See that you do...
Yeah, don't think I wasn't watching that 5 billion times before seeing Davy in person. BTW, the girl who he dances with is Toni Basil (who later would sing the famous 1980s "Hey Mickey" song). She choreographed this scene. The Monkees recognized talent when they ran into it. They got Jimmy Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Harry Nielson their starts.
The speedy jokes and adorable individual personalities are what inspire the Teeny Ok Go stories, but Ok Go-ified, taking each ok go member's personality and experiences.
you kids have got me wanting to see that movie so bad now! ive never really been that into the monkees... but those vids make them seem soooo adorable.
hahaha the dinner scene is just full of too many zingers to count!

Yes, yes! You and mel must watch them! You would love them! I picture Mel's favorite being Micky Dolenz and yours being Peter Tork. I have no idea why. They are darling, wonderful, hillarious, just I can go on and on. They are the kings of quick zingers! Both seasons of their tv show are available on dvd box sets. They had 58 episodes. Although if you fish around youtube, you can watch a few episodes in parts.
I was trying to find a clip that showcases their best zingers from all 58 eps. The only one I could find was some clips from an ep where they all go to visit Mike Nesmith's aunt in Texas. The whole ep spoofs the show Bonaza. Most of their show was about them trying to make money, get gigs, and help the people out they encountered. Some eps were just fun craziness with them spoofing things such as Bonaza or fairy tales.
(And Allie, Mike is also my sister's fav monkey. Peter's mine)
Oooo I've got to look at those videos!
Peter used to be my favorite too, but now that I'm re-watching everything it's swung right over to Mike. Mickey's adorable, and Davy annoys me most of the time. But every now and then I get this overwhelming urge to kiss his face off. Hmmm.....
I was trying to find my favorite bit of Head too - it might have to be when Mickey uses the tank to blow up the cola machine. Pure genius.
I'm in a monkees mood, as usual. Mike's country rock songs sound so good riding on a desolate reservation (although this isn't a song Mike wrote)
My fav parts: - 1:55 Davy looking like he's smelling Mike's head - Micky acting completely nuts in the background trying to act out the song while on the drums - Davy standing on the drum stand to look like he's actually tall

^^^ so cool! Did anyone watch it? It's a very surreal movie. The height of psychadelic
*Bump because these boys are so very lovable!*
Mr. Micky Dolenz is where it's at. Where ever that is. But he's my favorite.
Jaded - noooo!!!! Mike Nesmith, he's the best one. He was always kinda grumpy-ish in the tv series. I liked that.

(He's got the same birthday as our Rusty Ross)
...Want more Monkees and Ok Go comparisons? Peter Tork is a Red Sox fan
While we're on the subject of Peter. He now has an advice column on his website. Nothing too interesting, but he's just so cute anyway.
