That I can understand; if they were free, I would most likely have them on my phone as well. Still, when a simple ring suffices, why complicate the process? Honestly, if I were to have a song, I think I would be hesitant to pick up the phone because I would want to hear the whole thing.
Also, if I were to forget to set my phone to vibrate during a lecture, I would rather it ring than start some song or another.
well, it's so much more fun to hear a song than to hear a *ring ring* or a vibrate hum. It makes you happy And the money thing- hehe, there's nothing more to buy off itunes cuz I've already bought everything. And 2 weeks ago, in my chem lecture, my phone started to ring. My ringtone is HIGA. My phone was at the bottom of my bag, so it took me a while to find it- the song went thru almost 2 verses. At the end, the prof looks at me annoyed and says, "Now I've lost my train of thought." And he's kind of guy where you can't tell if he's joking or not. But I was really happy, thinking, "Now everyone here has listened and fallen in love with OK Go."

LOL
I don't have a ringtone... mine's just some de-de-de-de-de that came with the phone. But I guess it's just more fun to have a song.
I mean, I get that it's more fun than a regular ringtone (I mean, mine's just the regular "baRING"), but it would always disappoint me to turn it off. Why not just make mix CDs if you want people to hear music?
well i get free ringtones from myxer.com you download the songs you have on your computer and can then send them to your phone and its free unless you dont have text messaging

True that. It really is sad to have to stop the song. But the mix CDs- well, that you would only have to give to your friends...unless, in some burst of good samaritan spirit, you went up and down the streets offering free mix CDs....and now I have a new goal for the summer....
I did used to give mixed CDs to people I was kind of friends with (not the same as strangers, certainly). Of course, this often would get me into trouble as it came across as "flirty" (as I am prone to do). Still, I would offer and people would accept. I began making huge track lists with explanations of song choice and drawings. Sure, it was over-the-top, but if I was already considered more or less a crazy (a label I prefer over "boring" anyday), why not just go with it?
Please let us set up a free mix tape stand. Could you just imagine? It could be like a junk table: leave a CD to take a CD. It would be amazing. Free music for free music. Forever and ever.

Oh, my god. That would be pretty much the most amazing thing in the entire world.
Ahhhh.
Yeah, so I'm really into the mix CD thing. I bought a 50 back of burnable CDs last August and by April, I was completely out.

Maybe it's just me.
