Good Evening

Why am I making a new topic? Because I fucking can that's why. I can also make a pretty mean veggie stir fry but that's neither here nor there.

Today one of my best friends in the entire world and I went to the Modern Art Museum in Montreal. I wanted to see Bruce Nauman's exhibit, partially because I like his work but also partially because the last time I saw it, I was with Kenneth in the basement of the Dia in Beacon New York, with the neon shining in the dark.

Anyway, before traveling upstairs, my friend and I went down to the lower area where they had an exhibit of music videos. It's great. The last time I went, I sat there for over an hour watching a collection of videos from Queen to the White Stripes to Fatboy Slim. The exhibit was still there, just with different music videos. Queen became David Bowie. Fatboy Slim was a different Fatboy Slim ("Praise You" which made me laugh so hard that I cried). However, lo and behold, in the 2000-era videos, OK Go's Here it Goes Again came on.

Now, to be perfectly honest, it's been months since I've listened to OK Go. I love the boards, so I still come on. However, I've felt slightly disenchanted with the music (this is very different from thinking they're suddenly terrible. I still thought they were fantastic, I just had no urge to listen to them. I guess a better description would be that I was jaded).

However, I sat there next to my friend WHO by chance was one of the girls who actually introduced me to OK Go in the first place. (She even had gone so far as to write me a birthday song one year, changing the lyrics in "What to Do." It was magical.) We sat there, giggling and pointing out our favorite parts. The audience reacted, laughing and even granting them a small handclap at the end in congratulations. As I sat there, still in giggles and chatting with this friend about her writing me my birthday song and the fact that her OK Go buttons have been reduced to "K GO"

I remembered why I liked them so much in the first place.

  • Aww, hooray! There's something about them that's so lovable. I associate them with so many good times that, even if there comes a day when I don't listen to them as much anymore, I'll still have a warm little place for them in my heart. smile.gif Sappy sap sap.

I'd like to try your veggie stir fry, by the way. Mmm.
