1990s

edited November -1 in General Discussion
A music friend of mine invited me to see this band with her last week. I liked every song on their myspace page, so we went to the show, and they were really good. They're touring the US now, and I recommend seeing them if you can! They're a three-piece from Glasgow, Scotland - drums, bass, and guitar - and two of them sing. I just think you might like them. • *hearts them*

One or more of them used to be in a band with one or more of the guys from Franz Ferdinand.

I wanted to see them when they played in NoHo, but I was in the hospital. They're playing in New York the day before my birthday...unfortunately, because they're opening for Art Brut (who are actually quite fun in concert) and The Hold Steady, the concert is being held at Terminal 5, which = 3,000 people. tongue.gif)

(Haha, I'm such a tiny venue snob.)
  • I have Cookies, and it's wonderful. In the truest sense of the word. They're a lot of fun.
  • I've never really listened to them, but as a grammar geek, it's always pissed me off when people put "1990's"
    So I appreciate your note.

    Grammar geeks unite!
  • Dude. I liked you three before, and now I have even more reason.

The "no 'The' and no apostrophe" thing amused me, too - it's from their myspace page. smile.gif I can't take credit for it. (I'm a nitpicker about this, too, though. In college I wrote a lot of history papers that required me to learn the proper way to abbreviate a decade: '70s and 1970s are OK; 70's and 1970's are not.)

I bought Cookies at the show, and they all signed it. They were sweet. And Scottish. wink.gif

    *drools*

    *cleans up mess* Sorry.
  • I'm sad about the fact that they played THREE shows in San Francisco and I couldn't go to any of them. I miss my city. I need to listen to some Scottish accents to cheer me up.
