  • OK now, I have a question:

    QUOTE
verb: to paint A Pedro le gusta pintar. Pedro es un pintor. A María le gusta pintar. Ella es una pintora.

verb: to cook A Pedro le gusta cocinar. Pedro es un cocinero. A María le gusta cocinar. Ella es una cocinera.

Verb: to run A Pedro le gusta correr, él es un corredor. A María le gusta correr. Ella es una corredora.

Verb: to smoke A Pedro le gusta fumar. Él es un fumador. A María le gusta fumar. Ella es una fumadora.

Verb: to add A Pedro le gusta sumar, él es un sumador. A María le gusta sumar. Ella es una sumadora.

the suffix is "-dora" or "-dor", right? Then why does it say "-era" and "ero" for the verb to cook? is there any rule behind there? Or, why is it "-tora" and "-tar" instead of "-dora" and "dor"? for to paint? Also a rule maybe? Does it apply to the stem in some way?

I have absolutely no clue why that is so. Spanish is a language filled with irregular verbs and exceptions to the grammar rules.

For pintor/a using a "t" instead of a "d" in that case has to do with keeping the root word.
  • I just wanted to tell you all that I got my paper back this monday and I got a 1.7 ... THAT IS AMAZING! (it's like a A- / B+ ) It's the first paper I wrote and I'm just super happy that it turned out so great.

    Thank you for your help!!!

Anyone interested in reading it? (I dunno if that's allowed actually, but I guess I can show at least Surfer Rosa, as she helped me A LOT!)
