PopTech 2010

edited November -1 in OK Go

I thought it'd be foolish not to make a thread since there's quite a few things from the event and if everything gets posted in the 'Pictures and Stuff'...well it's just better in its own thread.

I already posted some photos in the Damian thread, but theres a few more.

There's more photos here and on page 11 in that link

  • Oh thank you Jade! This is just what I needed and I might not have noticed these had they not been in their own thread. Sometimes I find myself thinking it's silly to come to this board as a time-out or a form of stress reduction, but then I get here and it helps! Smile I'm here now trying to avoid blowing my top like a cartoon character at the uninformed opinions and hurtful assumptions of a couple of (relatively new) co-workers. You wouldn't believe how soothing that first photo is to my indignation.

Ahhhh OK Go... that's much better!

    From the same Poptech set

This one instantly made me wonder "How Many Devices Does Damian Carry? He's got an iPad under one arm an iPhone in his hands... I'll bet he's never more than two feet from at least four devices at any given moment. And for some reason, this shot made me think of it like some sort of game. (Count Damian's Devices! Point to all of the peripherals on his person and win a prize! Laugh).

The set's TTSP photo with the mic extended made me think of Damian doing Shakespeare soliloquies, so you can see where my head is tonight (or can you?).

Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow, (When the morning comes)
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day (When the morning comes)
To the last syllable of recorded time,
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools (You know you can't keep lettin' it get you down)
The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle! (And you can't keep draggin' that dead weight around.)
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player (If there ain't all that much to lug around,)
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage (Better run like hell when you hit the ground.)
And then is heard no more: it is a tale (Let it go).
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, (Can't keep letting it get you down, no you can't keep letting it get you down)
Signifying nothing. (This too shall pass)

    Embarassed

It was funnier when I used the second verse ("...yesterdays have lighted fools" = You're already getting yours, "dusty death" to "struts and frets" = 'Cause if your mind don't move and your knees don't bend, "Told by an idiot full of sound and fury = Don't go blaming the kids again, etc.), and I'm sure there are more apt speeches for the gist of the song, but Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow lends itself so perfectly no matter how you recite it. I couldn't help myself.
