I'm taking my 10 year old son to his first rock concert. His favorite band is OK Go (mine too) so this is an early X-mas present for the both of us. He's even gotten his piano teacher to show him how to play "The House Wins." I guess now I have to figure out the guitar part so we can play it together. Can't wait for Monday!

Aww, that's awesome. My mom and dad never did anything like that with me. I hope that he likes the Switchfoot and Cake performances, too.
I'm going with a my friend who is a Switchfoot fan, and the both of us were saying. "Who's Cake?"
BLASPHEMY.
Cake is AMAZING. Just... Just do a youtube search. Their career spans the last two decades. "Rock n Roll Lifestyle" "Sheep Go to Heaven" "Going the Distance" "I Bombed Korea" "Mr. Mastodon Farm" Their cover of "I Will Survive." I could probably go on all day. They played here in Philly in September and I missed seeing them YET AGAIN, but my friends went and loved it.
Funny thing about Switchfoot. When we were moving from NY to DE, I was still working for a radio station and "Dare You To Move" had just come out so we were playing it once every 4 hours or so. People were asking us why we were moving and we said it was because Switchfoot dared us to. And then we actually saw Switchfoot play a Christmas show with OK Go and Bowling for Soup in DC. They were okay. The highlights of that night were getting a drumstick from Dan and meeting the Bowling for Soup guy's dog, Sherman.
I'm pretty sure every single person on this board has heard a CAKE song at least once in their life. They probably didn't know that it was CAKE, though.
Still, this will be my first time seeing CAKE. I'm getting really excited about it. However I am really dreading the below zero temps they're forecasting for Monday night. Sure, it'll be nice and toasty warm in the club, but if we wanna see the boys after the show and they're not inside...
Ah, my last OK Go show of the year. It's gonna be sad and happy at the same time. I really hope I get to hear Return on the handbells, though something tells me this will be nixed off the list. But they are promising a Christmas song or two for the holiday shows, so I could possibly be okay with not hearing Return.
Squee!
