2) Sounds like you got a day that's better than a day in heaven. Then again, you could consider the day itself a day in heaven...
3) I don't think I can wait much longer for this video. If it's as amazing as you guys say it is (which I know it will be) then it'll be worth all this anticipation, but still... How patient do the boys expect us to be?
Gotta say though, I'm glad to hear they'll be touring properly again. Happier that you had an awesome time
Haha it easily goes on to the list of "Top 2 most amazing singular days ever" (the other being a similar experience, but with Doctor Who and Matt Smith...).
The morning/afternoon was amazing, too, so that didn't exactly hurt. :)
I'm so excited for the video.. like I'm not sure how much I'm supposed to say (Which is funny 'cause that's what Trish told us, but she told us more than I'm telling you), but it sounds soooooo amazing...
Well done to our two trusty, highly commendable reporters :] thx to the two of u, we officially cannot wait for the vid to launch. Im literally drooling at the thought.
P.S. Skylar we shd totally buy that pizza sweater for tim! :P x
I had one other flub where I said everybody instead of everywhere, otherwise I think I played it surprisingly cool, considering the level of freakout inside of me..
And that actually happened.. like properly.. it wasn’t a dream.. damnnnnnn…
I was very impressed with you, Skylar. You handled it very well. One of us got choked up talking to Damian, and it sure as heck wasn't you. (But I had good reason. I'll get to it.) I'm working on the next part of the post. You'll have it soon. I just want to say "That Actually Happened" is what Amy (Azulaco) and I say to each other after almost every single concert we attend together. :-)
"The other premiere – with indie rockers and YouTube sensation OK Go (150m clicks!) – featured rudimentary choreography too, but that was part of its savvy plan. One-tenth Korokoro’s length and 10 times more fun, All Is Not Lost is a split-stage comedy."
Whilst I may not necessarily agree with All is Not Lost being a "comedy", nevertheless it looks like critics have thoroughly enjoyed the performance :] very encouraging indeed! x
Hahaha, well, when you're comparing to all of the other dances, the dance that went with "All is Not Lost" was really light and fun and maybe I wouldn't describe it as comedy, but everybody was certainly laughing at some of the antics and images.
Well done to our two trusty, highly commendable reporters :] thx to the two of u, we officially cannot wait for the vid to launch. Im literally drooling at the thought.
INDEED! Thank you for reporting, Rachel and Skylar!!!
I don't know why, but the last post kept having code problems in it. No matter. I'll just repost. Aaaand the code keeps showing up. Alright, fine. Sorry, it'll just have to stay. (Becky was here to fix this snazzy post.)
OK, I've managed to finish my post now. So you can see it. :-D
After the show, once the theater emptied, I went over to say hello to Trish. Trish didn’t remember me at first, but I jogged her memory by telling her that I had been to see her at a Snark-a-Snoops show a few years ago, and she said “YES! In the Library!” Awesome. She asked me how I liked the show, and I told her how much I loved it, as well as how much the people next to me liked it. We started to walk out of the theater together at this point, and she started to tell me a bit about the video, but wasn’t sure what she could share. I said that I wouldn’t pass along any info unless Damian said it was okay. She said “ha, that’s my rule too.” I told Trish about how her answers to the questions in Sheri’s interview were incredibly inspirational to me. I have them saved in my phone. She was very touched by that information, and she gave me a hug. She said I made her night. At that point Skylar and Asher were behind me, so I introduced them to Trish. She then told us that the video would be out on July 27th, and that it was somewhat different from what we’d seen that night, but even better. Again, she wasn’t sure what she could and could not tell us. So I’m not going to say any more than that. She told us she was sure that the guys would come talk to us, and went downstairs.
See, there was a private party for donors and such going on downstairs, and it was blocked off by a velvet rope. However, the restrooms were down there too. So I went “to the ladies room” for 2 seconds, checked my makeup, and then stood on the open side of the velvet rope calling to Dan for his attention. He thanked me for grabbing him, and asked me if I liked the show. He also asked me what I thought of the costumes, to which I said “no comment” and smiled. (I’m sorry. I’m a prude. I am very uncomfortable discussing the dance belts. It makes me blush. You all go ahead, but this is not my game.) Then I told him that Skylar and Asher were upstairs, and he said he’d try to come up and talk. I went back upstairs, and by the time I got back to Skylar and Ash, Dan was behind me. The boys got a picture with Dan, but he had to go back downstairs for some announcements.
A few minutes after the announcements, Damian came upstairs to talk to us. He recognized Asher, commented that he’d never seen Skylar before, and then I joked that maybe we’ve met. He said, “yeah, once or twice.” He asked if we enjoyed the show, and (as Skylar said in his post) commented that it was weird for him to be dancing professionally. I said “But you’ve been dancing for years?” and he said “well yeah, but it’s like I’ve been playing flag football in the park and now the NFL is calling me in for the big game. Granted, they’re giving me the easy part, but still.” So I said “Suit up, kid.” Honestly I don’t remember too much about this portion of the conversation, because it was overshadowed by what was to follow. At a lull in the conversation, I said “So, you’re my hero, and I have something I’d like to show you.” Damian says OK, and I go to grab it from my purse while Skylar talks to him about the socks blog (Super Cute). So I pull out a magazine, and Damian sees the title and goes “Delaware Today?” And I say “Well, yes, I live in Delaware.” He gasps and asks “Are you in there?” I smile and nod and Damian goes “Awesome” and high fives me. I showed him the page where Delaware Today has me listed as “Favorite Musician” in the Best of Delaware poll. This is where I lost it a little. I got really choked up and said something to the effect of “you’re my hero, and I could have never done this without being your fan.” There was more to it than that, but basically I somehow managed to tell Damian all about why he’s my hero and how watching them has given me the courage to try to pursue my own musical aspirations. It was not easy for me to tell him. While I tried to get the words out, he just stood there and gave me The Best Smile. And then he gave me a huge hug. A really lovely hug. But then – and this is the best part – after the hug he said “You make me proud.” I think my heart exploded in that moment. You know what that means? To have your hero tell you that you make THEM proud? Just, there are no words.
We talked for another minute, then he turns to Tim, who has been talking with Skylar and Asher, and says “Hey Tim, Rachel’s the best musician in Delaware!” (Dude. Think about that for a second. Just. Wow.) So Tim says “Really?” and I show him the magazine too. I told him how much OK Go means to me as well, but it wasn’t as hard to tell him as it was to tell Damian. As Adam puts it, “Damian writes the Op-Eds” and he’s right. Damian’s the one who, as the face of the band, appears to be doing the trailblazing (even though I realize that all of them have a hand in it). So he was the hardest to tell. But Tim comes along and somehow, all of a sudden, I have balls. I even told Tim that one day they’d be bringing me on tour with them. He said “Well keep sending us your stuff.” He said they were playing Lolla and asked if I was coming. I told him that I’m playing a festival of my own that weekend in Atlantic City and he said “Oh, WELL then.”
Tim and Damian said goodbye, and we waited for Andy for a few minutes. Skylar, his parents, and Asher had to catch a train home, so I was on my own. I decided to get ballsy and go downstairs to where the party was winding down to look for Andy. I couldn’t find him, but I saw Dan again and this time I told him about the magazine. He congratulated me as well. I told him that I couldn’t have done it without them and he said “Yeah, and I’m going to take all the credit for that.” I said “She was nothing without me!” and he says “yeah, Nothing!” He thanked me again for coming and gave me a hug. Still, no Andy to be seen. I went over to Damian and waited for a lull in his conversation to ask. “Hey, I’m going to be a pain in your ass for a minute, and I’m sorry.” “OK, what’s up?” “I wanted to talk to Andy before I left.” “Weeelll do you see him?” “No, and that’s why I’m being a pain in your ass.” “He may have left.” “Oh, okay.” “Well, let me go backstage to get my bag, and if I see him, I’ll let him know you’re out here.” “Thank you.” Then I let him be. He went backstage a minute later, and then maybe 5 minutes later the backstage door opened and there was Andy, coming right towards me. I told him about how I’d played Chicago and the song that got the most applause was a cover of 23. I showed him the magazine, and when I told him I couldn’t have done it without them he said “oh I bet you could’ve.” I also managed to tell him that The Yankees were better than The Red Sox and he said “well that’s not true.” We said goodbye, and then I went back to my car and drove home. Best. Night. Ever.
And now, Rachel, you hv officially become MY hero(ine), for having (not to mention nerves of steel) received not only THE BEST SMILE, but also THE BEST HUG and THE BEST MOTIVATIONAL WORDS. Which also officially makes OK Go my superheroes. I think that sounds juz abt right, no? ;) x
Awww, honestly you shouldn't be looking up to me over this. You should just have even more respect for the boys. They're the awesome ones. They are very good to us. And Maggie, thank you, I'm glad you like the Chanukah Song cover.
Moments like this I miss the old boards. There was a smiley face you could use that had hearts coming out of it. It was called . That's kind of how I feel right now, towards both you guys and the boys.

That makes me incredibly hapy. :D
You guys had a phenomenal day. I'm super happy right now. Then again, all this talk is making me super-impatient. Please, release the video already!!!
Aaaah why do we have to wait until the 27th??
POR QUE?!?
EEK! One day, I'll do a cover of your cover of the Chanukah Song. Love it!
And welcome singingforstarlight to the boards! We're always happy to have newbies!
Moments like this I miss the old boards. There was a smiley face you could use that had hearts coming out of it. It was called . That's kind of how I feel right now, towards both you guys and the boys.
I think I need a  emote too (is it weird that I knew about that? It kept showing up when I read through a lot of the really old threads. xD)
Seriously.
This week rocked. In many ways. :D
You know what ELSE rocks?
[spoiler]
That there's a spoiler function! Epic!

I just noticed it! But I'm confused, how can they have a spoiler function but no  emoticon?
