Not sure how this vid completely escaped us, but here's Damian talking abt his love for Sam the Eagle on The Muppets…

and more importantly, Damian talks abt *DRUMROLLLLL* the Sesame Street colour vid!  Or part of the lyrics anyway… :)

aaaaannndddd, if you haven't gotten enough of the crazy cuteness that is Mr Kulash, here's the first part of this Fuse interview where he attempts "the sexy" in front of the *cough* Mr President.  His smouldering look is worth more than 359408524x the size of Warren Buffett's estate (because "if Marilyn can do it, so can Damian!")  x

  • Awesome!  Thanks for posting those!

Lol, he's getting further off the mark re: their first Lollapalooza--it was 2005.

Wow, it just goes to show that perception is everything.  When he tells that Marilyn/Obama bday story (here and in the WXRT interview), you get the idea that there was an actual awkward pause for everyone at the Aragon, but when you watch Becky's video, there's like, no pause whatsoever.  I assume that for him, onstage in that moment, it must have felt just like he describes, but it looks completely different from the outside.  It also doesn't even sound like he's the only one singing at that moment, like he thinks he was.
  • Just moving this from a different thread to keep it on topic:

I think this belongs here since Sesame Street and Muppets are related to each other. Introducing, the "3 Primary Colours Song!

    1) I like how Tim played all the secondary colours, though I'm a little confused. They probably needed to dye all their clothes, but they just don't make secondary colours like that! How did they get that orange so... Orange?!?! Did they use a greenscreen?

    2) My favourite colour is yellow. So that works out nicely. What's your favourite colour?

    3) The song is catchy enough to sing in your mind all day, which I think gives them an overall A+!

  • I have been looking forward to that for a long time and it was worth the wait.  It was really cute and the song is catchy.  I think kids will have no trouble remembering it.

uh oh, looks like we've got a requisite hater amongst the Internets... altho i really dun get the pt. his comments have been rehashed ("OK Go only focusses on vids etcetc) since forever, and really he brings no new arguments to the table.

Also - what exactly does "ungenerous" mean? -.-" x
  • Wow, they really did hate it.  At least they had the clip embedded so that people can judge for themselves.  I think that this was the inevitable fallout that always seems to occur when something about the world changes.  Those people who embrace the change and thrive in the new paradigm tend to be attacked for being different.  The music industry changed and some people are still holding on to the old standards.  I imagine that this is another case of someone criticizing music they haven't even listened to.

Ungenerous means mean and petty, by the way.  Also thanks for sharing, I like seeing what the detractors have to say.
  • Don't listen to the haters. They aren't worth listening to, and they never raise any valid points.

So true.  Most negativity I've seen towards OK Go is people calling their music "bland."  Even if it isn't to your taste, it is anything but bland.

Edit: The link a few posts back isn't working now, so either a bad connection or the page has been taken down, if that is the case, likely for good reason.
  • Well, since it links back to the same article, I'll just put this

To note, it's the same person responsible for both articles. So cue surprise on the opinion ;)

Yeah, it's sad that some people lead such shallow lives that they have to find someone to criticize over everything.  I would suggest just not paying attention to that person, attention is what they want based on what they're writing.
